A signal processing assembly and a method for processing a pulsed signal are provided. The signal processing assembly includes a plurality of nth moment detectors including a first nth moment detector with a signal value detecting function and including at least one second nth moment detector with a signal value detecting function. Each of the plurality of nth moment detectors includes a filter with a sliding window, wherein the filter is configured to accumulate samples of signal values of the pulsed signal over a period of time within the sliding window. The first nth moment detector includes a maximum detector configured to determine a maximum signal value of the plurality of accumulated sample signal values of the first nth moment detector. The maximum detector is configured to control sampling by the at least one second nth moment detector such that a specific signal value of the plurality of accumulated sample signal values of the at least one second nth moment detector is obtained, wherein the specific signal value corresponds in time with the determined maximum signal value of the first nth moment detector.

Signal processing assembly and a method for processing a pulsed signal

A detector circuit for a measurement instrument is described. The detector circuit includes a first signal input, a second signal input, and an averaging sub-circuit. The first signal input is configured to receive a first complex-valued measurement signal associated with an input signal received from a device under test. The second signal input is configured to receive a second complex-valued measurement signal associated with the input signal received from the device under test. The averaging sub-circuit is configured to determine an average of the first complex-valued measurement signal and of a complex conjugate of the second complex-valued measurement signal over a predetermined number of samples, thereby obtaining a complex-valued average signal. The averaging sub-circuit is configured to generate an output signal based on the complex-valued average signal. Further, a signal processing circuit and a measurement instrument are described.

Detector circuit, signal processing circuit, and measurement instrument

A signal processing circuit for a measurement instrument is described. The signal processing circuit includes an analysis circuit, a measurement input, and at least two parallel measurement channels. The parallel measurement channels are configured to process the input signal, thereby generating first and second complex-valued measurement signals. The analysis circuit is configured to determine first and second error quantities associated with the first and second complex-valued measurement signals, respectively. The analysis circuit is configured to determine a complex-valued average signal corresponding to a combined average of the first and second complex-valued measurement signals. The analysis circuit is configured to determine a combined error quantity based on the complex-valued average signal. The analysis circuit is configured to determine a comparison quantity based on the combined error quantity as well as based on the first error quantity and/or the second error quantity.

Signal processing circuit and measurement instrument

A measurement system includes an input port, a signal splitter, first and second signal paths, an analysis circuit, and a control circuit. The input port is configured to receive an input signal to be measured. The signal splitter is configured to split the input signal into a first signal that is forwarded to the first signal path and a second signal that is forwarded to the second signal path. The analysis circuit is connected to the first signal path and the second signal path so as to receive both a first processed signal and a second processed signal. A receiver with a power detecting function for a pulsed signal is provided. Said receiver comprises an accumulator for accumulating samples of the respective power of the corresponding signal over time. In this context, the respective accumulation length is a window being based on the pulse length of the corresponding signal. Furthermore, the receiver may additionally comprise an output for outputting several windows and a maximum detector. In this context, the maximum detector is configured to determine a maximum power value of the several windows.

A sampling device comprises a clock source that provides a clock frequency, a converter with a receiving port for receiving the clock frequency, and a re-sampler located in a digital domain of the sampling device. The clock source is configured to vary the clock frequency over time. The clock source is configured to forward the clock frequency to the converter in order to change a sampling rate of the converter in dependency of the clock frequency. An output sample rate of the sampling device is fixed.
