The invention relates to a motor vehicle (). In order to increase motor vehicle user convenience and eco-friendliness in connection with a parking of motor vehicles () subject to a charge, the motor vehicle () has at least one device () permanently integrated into at least one structure of the motor vehicle () for displaying a parking duration and/or a parking start of the motor vehicle.

The invention relates to a method for operating a headlight of a vehicle in which the, in particular activated, high beam function is controlled on the basis of surroundings information. To reduce the reaction time for controlling the high beam function, it is proposed that at least one critical zone () of a roadway section () in the surroundings ahead is identified in which the appearance of surrounding traffic which is not yet in the field of vision is likely. The identified critical zone () is subsequently monitored for at least one indicator for surrounding traffic potentially soon coming into the field of vision, wherein the high beam function is controlled in an appropriate manner upon the appearance of this indicator.

Method for operating a headlight of a vehicle, and high beam assist system

A method of operating an auto-braking system of a vehicle in coordination with operation of a speed limiting system (SLS) of the vehicle to prevent undesired loss of auto-braking functionality. If: a) a driver input of an engine power control parameter (such as throttle setting) exceeds an activation threshold of the SLS so that the SLS is therefore limiting vehicle speed to a set-speed corresponding to the activation threshold; and b) the driver input of the power control parameter is below a SLS override threshold; and c) the SLS override threshold exceeds an auto-braking override threshold for the power control parameter; then the auto-braking override threshold is increased to at least equal the SLS override threshold. The speed limiter activation threshold may be determined from speed limit information supplied by a vehicle navigation system of by an image evaluating unit from images obtained by a camera of the vehicle.

A method and apparatus for controlling a parking process of a vehicle. The method including setting an upper speed limit; using a speed-limiting device to limit the speed of the vehicle at a parking speed that is less than or equal to the upper speed limit speed; suppressing an accelerator pedal speed increase request that increases the vehicle speed over the upper speed limit; and performing the assisted parking operation while limiting the vehicle speed and terminating the suppression of the increase in speed when the accelerator pedal is depressed by more than a predetermined value. Wherein the predetermined value is selected as a function of a slope on which the vehicle is located. The invention also relates to a steering system for an assisted parking procedure of a vehicle and a vehicle with such a steering system.
