An implantable medical device which preferably has a segmented looping memory for storing triggered physiologic events also has autotriggers to record the ECGs and any other relevant physiologic signals occurring during triggering events. The problem is that in the far field R-wave sensing is difficult because of noise. Denial and extensible accommodation periods are introduced into the R-wave sensing registration for triggering data storage. If the event is sensed during an accommodation period the sense will not add an R-wave sense to the trigger's count of R-waves. It may cause resetting of the trigger count in some circumstnaces. Typical triggering events may include arrhythmia's and syncopal events. Preferably the device can function without a microprocessor. An outside device or other patient activated manual trigger may be included. Auto triggers and manually set triggers may be of different sizes. Electrode spacing can be critical. Additional sensors may be provided to the device. Preferred communications with the device is through telemetry such as is used for pacemakers and other implanted devices.

Noise rejection for monitoring ECG's

A minimally invasive implant, means for insertion, and description of how to most efficiently use it are described n several embodiments. Electrode spacing can be critical. Additional sensors may be provided to the device. Preferred communications with the device is through telemetry such as is used for pacemakers and other implanted devices.

Minimally invasive implantable device for monitoring physiologic events

A hand-held programmer/monitor (500) for programming and monitoring an implantable tissue growth stimulator (10) is provided. The stimulator (10) includes circuitry (46) for implementing selected operations in response to a down-link signal transmitted by the programmer/monitor (500). The stimulator (10) also includes circuitry (14) for transmitting up-link signals to the programmer/monitor (500). The programmer/monitor (500) includes a control circuit (518) for generating the down-link signal. The control circuit (518) also processes the up-link signal to monitor the status of the implantable tissue growth stimulator (10). The programmer/monitor (500) also includes a transmit/receive circuit (514) for transmitting the down-link signal to and for receiving the up-link signal from the implantable tissue growth stimulator (10). The transmit/receive circuit (514) also couples the up-link signal to the control circuit (518).

Implantable growth tissue stimulator and method of operation

A method for the therapeutic stimulation of bone growth of a bone site is disclosed comprising the steps of implanting first and second electrodes into the tissue near the base site. The electrodes are coupled to a bone growth stimulator which generates an alternating current.
