Fire resistant data communication cable

Three-wire communication cables are useful for operation with a vehicle as vehicular data communication cables. The cables include a cable core formed of three insulated wires twisted together at a defined pitch and a jacket surrounding the cable core. The cables can meet Mobile Industry Processor Interface ('MIPI') C-PHY&#x2120; standard (Version 1.2) as well as International Standards Organization ('ISO') 6722-1 (2011) and 14572 (2011).

A cable including a conductive composite core formed from braided carbonized fibers and fiberglass fibers. At least a portion of the fiberglass fibers are coated with magnetic material to suppress electromagnetic interference noise. Methods of forming such cables is also provided herein.

Cables having a conductive composite core and methods of forming the same

Materials for making cable jackets, particularly riser and plenum cables, are provided. The materials provide low flammability and allow the cable to meet UL 910 or NFPA 262 or UL 1666 specifications. The material contains PVC resin, a plasticizer, a metal oxide particle, and optionally a brominated phthalate. Preferably, the metal oxide particle is spherical amorphous silicon dioxide. More preferably, the spherical amorphous silicon dioxide has a mean particle size of about 100-200 nm and/or a BET surface area of about 10-30 m/g. The metal oxide particle is also preferably metal oxide particle non-porous, non-ionic, and/or non-hydrated.

Compositions for riser and plenum cables

Compositions for use as cable coverings, e.g. insulation or jacket, are described. The compositions contain a base polymer having (a) a thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU); (b) a chlorinated flame retardant; and (c) an antimony flame retardant.

Thermoplastic polyurethane material with enhanced fluid immersion and water absorption capabilities

A low-voltage electrical power cable that includes of at least one uninsulated ground conductor and at least one insulated power conductor. The ground conductor and the power conductor are covered with an electrically conductive composition such that the power conductor contacts the electrical conductive composition for improving the flow of a fault current to the ground conductor and to trigger a circuit breaker when the low-voltage power cable is damaged by generating the fault current without the presence of a ground check wire.

Fault protected electrical cable

An improved fault protected electric power cable is disclosed. In the improved fault protected electric power cable, there are at least two insulated power conductors and an uninsulated ground conductor wherein the ground conductor and the insulated power conductors are all in electrical contact with a conductive polymer composition. If an electrical fault occurs in one of the power conductors the conductive polymer composition will carry the current to the ground conductor.
