An alarm system having a portable body carried controller that wireless communicates with multiple remote base units each having a wireless communications system configured for ultralow power mode operation where the communications system is put in sleep mode greater than one half packet transmission time but no greater than preamble transmission time to conserve battery life. Controller has multiple LED-equipped buttons assigned to corresponding base units during pairing which are respectively activated when the corresponding base unit assigned thereto alarms upon occurrence of a sensor detection event. Pressing the button can turn off the LED alarm, can poll the assigned base unit, and can task the assigned base unit including to operate in flashlight mode where base unit is lit up. A preferred base unit has an enclosure with legs that form reversible pedestals upon which base unit can be placed.

Remotely detectable transportable game and fishing alarm system

Systems and methods of the present invention provide for storing a unique identifier for an RFID tag associated with, and affixed to, an asset. An RFID reader, coupled to a server computer through a network, executes firmware instructions causing the reader to receive a transmission from a server computer to run a customizable software with programmable logic at the reader. The reader then recognizes the tag according to its signal strength, and determines a tag state for the tag according to a state machine in the customizable software. If the tag state changes, the reader publishes the tag state and transmits it to the server computer using a low bandwidth solution.

A power line monitoring device is mounted to a power line. The device includes circuitry for monitoring the power line and communicating information regarding the power line. A ground reference point of the circuitry is electrically coupled to the power line. Therefore, the monitoring device, including its circuitry, has substantially the same voltage potential as the power line. Accordingly, there is a substantially equalized or uniform electric field around the device. The substantially equal voltage potential and electric field allow communications with the monitoring device to have reduced noise and interference, as compared to other devices that have different voltage potentials than their corresponding power lines. A pad of semi-conductive material may be disposed between the power line and the electrical conductors to slow a rate of change of the voltage potential of the device circuitry when mounting the device to the power line, thereby minimizing risk of corona discharge.

Overhead communicating device

A harvesting and measurement device is operable in at least a normal operation mode, a demand measurement mode, and a fault measurement mode. In the normal operation mode, the device is able to harvest energy from an associated power line and monitor current and voltage conditions through a lower power circuit. The plurality of tap switches are connected to a microcontroller. Further, the systems, methods, and devices include an energy storage device, and LED light source(s). In some instances the current transformer powers the LED light source(s), and in other instances, the current transformer charges the energy storage device and the energy storage device in turn powers the LED light source(s), and in yet other instances, a combination of powering directly from the current transformer or energy storage device may be switched back and forth depending on a variety of parameters.

An apparatus is provided for securing to and collecting power from an electrical conductor including a wire clamp that clamps and secures to an electrical conductor, a current transformer ('CT') that clamps to the electrical conductor and collects power from the electrical conductor, and a housing that supports the wire clamp and the current transformer. According to various aspects, the apparatus may include a wire clamp including a compression post and clamp arms that surround and compress an electrical conductor in a closed position of the wire clamp, where each of the clamp arms includes pivot posts, and the clamp arms pivot between closed and open positions. According to other various aspects, the apparatus may include a split magnetic core that surrounds an electrical conductor in a closed position of the current transformer, where the split magnetic core includes pivot posts, and the split magnetic core pivots between closed and open positions.
