A hydraulic connection mechanism for use in a wellbore comprises an upper connection tool, a lower connection tool configured to engage the upper connection tool and form a fluid communication pathway through the hydraulic connection mechanism, and a debris barrier disposed in the fluid communication pathway. The debris barrier comprises a body element, and a spring element configured to maintain the body element in a closed position when the upper connection tool is disengaged from the lower connection tool.

A hydraulic connection mechanism for use in a wellbore comprises an upper connection running tool, a lower connection tool configured to engage the upper connection running tool and form a fluid communication pathway through the hydraulic connection mechanism, and a debris barrier disposed in the fluid communication pathway. The debris barrier comprises a body element, and a spring element configured to maintain the body element in a closed position when the upper connection running tool is disengaged from the lower connection tool.

An anchor for a wellbore is adaptable to be operated in at least two separate and distinct ways. In one embodiment, a whipstock anchor is provided that can be operated either mechanically or hydraulically. In another embodiment, the anchor is designed to run through a restriction in a retracted position and thereafter expanded to position a wellbore tool in the wellbore. Preferably, the anchor is expandable to set in wellbores of various sizes and either cased or uncased.

Apparatus and methods of use for a whipstock anchor

The present invention generally relates to an apparatus and method for use in a wellbore. In one aspect, a downhole tool for use in a wellbore is provided. The downhole tool includes a housing having a shaped inner bore, a first end and a second end. The downhole tool further includes a rotor having a plurality of extendable members, wherein the rotor is disposable in the shaped inner bore to form at least one chamber therebetween. Furthermore, the downhole tool includes a substantially axial fluid pathway through the chamber, wherein the fluid pathway includes at least one inlet proximate the first end and at least one outlet proximate the second end. In another aspect a downhole motor for use in a wellbore is provided. In yet another aspect, a method of rotating a downhole tool is provided.

Down-hole vane motor

The present invention generally relates to a disconnect for use in a wellbore to separate a tubular string from a stuck wellbore component. In one aspect, the invention includes a disconnect with a first portion and a second portion and a lock nut preventing the separation of the two portions. When a predetermined fluid force is applied to a piston in the disconnect, a tensile sleeve fails and the first and second portions of the disconnect separate, thereby leaving a portion of the disconnect in the wellbore with the stuck component. In one embodiment, the tensile sleeve's failure permits an annular piston to dislodge a wedge sleeve from the lock nut, thereby permitting separation of the first and second portion of the disconnect.
