A wireless field device for use in an industrial process includes input/output terminals configured to couple to a process interface element. A discrete input/output channel is configured to receive a discrete input signal from the process interface element through the input/output terminals when configured as a discrete input channel. The discrete input/output channel is further configured to provide a discrete output to the process interface element through the input/output terminals when configured as discrete output channel. Wireless communication circuitry transmits and receives information. A controller is configured to provide a discrete output signal to the process interface element in response to information received by the wireless communication circuitry when the discrete input/output channel is configured as a discrete output channel, and further configure to receive a discrete input signal from a process variable sensor and responsively provide an output using the wireless communication circuitry when the discrete input/output channel is configured as a discrete input channel. An external power supply input couples to an external power supply. A load adapter module couples to the discrete output signal and the external power supply input and includes a switch configured to connect the process interface element to the external power supply in response to the discrete output signal.

A detachable filter assembly includes a filter, a filter assembly housing defining a body of the filter assembly, an attachment mechanism configured to couple to a sensor installation, a securing mechanism configured to mate with a mating feature on the sensor installation, and a calibration port configured to provide a direct fluid pathway to the sensor installation.

A sensor module assembly includes a sensor housing that houses a sensing element configured to sense a characteristic of a process and generate a sensor signal indicative of the characteristic. The sensor module assembly includes a wireless device housing that houses communication circuitry configured to receive the sensor signal and a wireless transmitter configured to send the sensor signal wirelessly to a remote device. The sensor module assembly also includes a communication cable that communicatively couples the sensing element in the sensor housing to the communication circuitry in the wireless device housing.

The gas sensor module includes a gas sensor disposed within a gas sensor housing and circuitry coupled to the gas sensor housing. The circuitry is configured to provide an indication of the gas. A monitor module for a turbine flow meter includes a receiver that receives a sequence of pulses sent by the turbine flow meter. A frequency identifier identifies a frequency of the pulses in the sequence of pulses and a mean identifier identifies a mean frequency of frequencies of pulses. An alert system uses the mean frequency to determine when an alert should be issued.

One embodiment of a substrate laminator comprises a housing that includes a cartridge receiver, a substrate transport, a cartridge and a cartridge position adjustment mechanism. The substrate transport mechanism is configured to feed substrates along the processing path in a lengthwise direction. The cartridge is received in the cartridge receiver and includes a ribbon supply. The cartridge position adjustment mechanism is configured to adjust the position of the cartridge in a widthwise direction relative to the substrate processing path.
