A medical dressing comprising an absorbent adhesive layer having a pharmaceutically active agent incorporated, the non-skin-facing surface being provided with a backing layer and the skin facing surface being interrupted by a pattern of cavities. The cavities provide a storage room and distribution centre for wound exudates enabling the dressing to be applied to fast exuding wounds and at the same time allows for an increased initial release of the pharmaceutically active agent.

Medical dressing

A wound dressing comprising an adhesive layer having a skin-facing surface and a non-skin-facing surface, the non-skin-facing surface being provided with a backing layer, the dressing comprises a central portion comprising an absorbent adhesive, and an border portion surrounding the central portion, wherein the skin facing surface of edge portion of the adhesive layer is continuous and the skin facing surface of central portion is interrupted by interconnected cavities. The cavities provide a storage room and distribution center for wound exudates enabling the dressing to be applied to fast exuding wounds.

Adhesive wound dressing

The invention relates to a thin film dressing having a release liner which is able to support the dressing during application. The resilience or stiffness of the release liner is higher than the resilience or stiffness of the dressing so as to enable the control of the dressing during application. The invention further relates to a method of application of the thin film dressing where a minor part of the dressing initially is applied to the skin afterwards the dressing is folded backwards so the release liner faces upwards. Finally, the remaining part of the dressing is applied by pushing the release liner forwards in a rolling motion thereby rolling the dressing onto the skin. This dressing assembly allows the dressing to be applied by using only one hand.

Thin film dressing

A dressing product includes a cover sheet, a carrier system, and a dressing sheet. The carrier system includes a periphery that is attached to the cover sheet and a lower portion that extends from the periphery to a protruding portion. The protruding portion of the carrier system is spaced apart from the cover sheet by the lower portion of the carrier system to define a cavity between the cover sheet and the carrier system. The dressing sheet includes a backing layer and an adhesive attached to the backing layer. The dressing sheet is disposed in the cavity and is contained between sidewalls that are defined by the lower portion of the carrier system.

Dressing product

A dressing product includes a thin film dressing sheet, one first surface of which is coated with an adhesive, such as a pressure sensitive hydrocolloid adhesive, which is applicable to an anatomical surface of a human. A carrier system, which provides a support for the dressing sheet, defines a gripping section for handling of the carrier system. The carrier system may include one or more foil members and supporting sheets for facilitating application and for providing a non-touch application system, i.e., a system which may be handled by an operator without the operator touching the dressing sheet or at least the adhesive surface. A protective sheet having an opening for application of a pharmaceutical product to the adhesive prior to application of the dressing sheet is disclosed.

A dressing product comprises a dressing sheet (), such as a thin film, one first surface of which is coated with an adhesive (), such as a pressure sensitive hydrocolloid adhesive, which is applicable to an anatomical surface of a living being, such as a skin portion of a human. A carrier system, which provides a support for the dressing sheet, defines a gripping section for handling of the carrier system by human fingers. A layered product in a package ready for non-touch application which product comprises a cover layer to which an adhesive layer is unreleasably fastened and a release layer which is releasably fastened to the adhesive layer, and which package comprises a top layer and a bottom layer where the top layer is next to the cover layer and the bottom layer is next to the adhesive layer or the release layer and the top and bottom layer are releasably sealed to each other isolating the adhesive layer from the surroundings, and where the cover layer is releasably fastened to the top layer.

Layered product ready for non touch application and a method for producing such a product

A dressing comprising a main part and a handle part. The main part comprising an adhesive layer, a release liner and a carrier layer optionally covered by a protective layer. The handle part comprises at least one table member, said tab member being designed for use as a &ldquo;non touch&rdquo; grip for applying the dressing to the skin without touching the adhesive surface of the main part. The tab member comprises one or more layers and has at least one layer in common with the main part of the dressing. Further, the length of an intermediate zone between the handle part and the main part is less than 20% of the length of the periphery of the main part. Still further, the handle part may be provided with at least one additional layer. Finally, there may be provided at least one notch in an intermediate zone between the handle part and the main part of the dressing in order to facilitate removal of the tab member during or after applying the dressing.
