Systems and methods are provided for providing a navigation interface to access or otherwise use electronic content items. In one embodiment, an augmentation application identifies at least one entity referenced in a document. The entity can be referenced in at least two portions of the document by at least two different words or phrases. The augmentation application associates the at least one entity with at least one multimedia asset. The augmentation application generates a layout including at least some content of the document referencing the at least one entity and the at least one multimedia asset associated with the at least one entity. The augmentation application renders the layout for display.

Augmenting text with multimedia assets

In a method, one or more processing devices perform operations. Such operations include receiving a signal to display a widget for one or more objects displayed in virtual space. The operations further include computing a bounding box for the one or more objects, the bounding box including a bottom section having a set of corners. The operations further include determining, from among the set of corners, a first corner and a second corner that are, respectively, closest and second closest to a virtual camera position. The operations further include generating the widget based on the bounding box, the first corner, and the second corner. The widget includes a first axis handle connected to a second axis handle at the first corner and further connected to a third axis handle at the second corner. The operations further include causing display of the widget along with the one or more objects.

Automatically positioning objects in three-dimensional space utilizing a widget

A method for adding comments to dynamic content is provided. The method may include receiving an indication to associate a comment with a comment state of a scripted dynamic content. The comment state may include a user-customized content element. In response to receiving the indication to associate the comment with the comment state, opaque state information for the comment state may be requested. The opaque state information may be useable to render the comment state. The comment may be stored in association with the opaque state information for the comment state.

Commenting dynamic content

A method, system, and computer-readable storage medium are disclosed for rendering a scene with render targets having instances of cyclic dependency. A dependency graph for a plurality of render targets in a scene may be determined automatically. A plurality of strongly connected components in the dependency graph may be determined automatically. Each of the plurality of strongly connected components may comprise one or more of the plurality of render targets. A topological order for the plurality of strongly connected components may be determined automatically. The scene may be rendered based on the topological order using the plurality of render targets.

Ordering and rendering buffers for complex scenes with cyclic dependency

Apparatus, systems, and methods may operate to add opaque state information to a data file that includes dynamic content and is organized according to a page descriptive format. The opaque state information can be referenced to a comment and a comment state selected from a plurality of states associated with the dynamic content. In some embodiments, the apparatus, systems, and methods may operate to access the data file and the opaque state information to recreate the comment state associated with the dynamic content. Additional apparatus, systems, and methods are disclosed.

In some implementations of edge-aware smoothing, a method includes determining a boundary map for an input image, where the boundary map associates one of multiple different labels to each pixel of the input image, and the labels indicate one or more edges in the input image. The method determines a set of input pixels of the input image eligible to influence an output pixel of an output image, the output pixel corresponding to a pixel of the input image. A blurred pixel value for the output pixel is determined, where the blurred pixel value is based on the set of input pixels and associated labels from the boundary map that correspond to the set of input pixels. The associated labels are used to reduce blurring in the output image of any of the one or more edges present in the set of input pixels.

Edge-aware smoothing in images

In some implementations, a method includes identifying one or more face regions of an image, the face regions including pixels that depict at least a portion of one or more faces of persons. The face regions are identified based on identifying facial landmarks of the faces. The method determines an associated face mask for each of the faces based on the face regions, where each face mask indicates which pixels in the image depict the corresponding face. Face pixels can be selected for processing by applying the face masks, and image pixels outside the faces can be selected by inversely applying the face masks. The selected pixels can be provided to a processing operation for adjustment of the selected pixels.

A method, system, and computer-readable storage medium are disclosed for rendering an artwork comprising a plurality of surfaces, wherein the plurality of surfaces comprises a plurality of semi-transparent surfaces unsorted in depth. An identifier of the nearest semi-transparent surface may be determined and stored in a stencil count of a stencil buffer. The depth of the second nearest semi-transparent surface may be determined using a stencil test based on the stencil count to bypass the nearest semi-transparent surface. The second nearest semi-transparent surface may be rendered to an image buffer, and the nearest semi-transparent surface may be rendered to the image buffer.
