The present invention discloses a system that provides automated guidance for making architectural decisions when designing information services in a service-oriented architecture (SOA). Such a system can include a requirements manager, a reusable asset repository, and an asset advisory tool. The requirements manager can be configured to capture non-functional requirements for information services. The reusable asset repository can be configured to store design assets. The design assets can be stored according to a unique data model that associates each design asset with a non-functional requirement. The asset advisory tool can be configured to determine a list of recommended design assets for a user-selected non-functional requirement and document the architectural decision made from the list of recommended design assets.

Solution that automatically recommends design assets when making architectural design decisions for information services

An embodiment of the invention includes a system for partitioning asset management plugins. The system includes an application program interface for performing basic CRUD functions on assets having multiple asset types. At least one plugin having plugin components is provided, wherein the plugin manages at least one asset having a specific asset type (of the multiple asset types). The plugin components include a CRUD component, a state component, an actions component, and/or a view component. The system further includes plugin containers for hosting the plugin components, the plugin containers include at least one client-side plugin container and at least one server-side plugin container. The plugin components are partitioned and distributed from the plugin components to the plugin containers by a plugin server based on capabilities of the client.

Method and system for partitioning asset management plugins

A method, system and computer program product is provided for deploying software in a data processing system. A topology pattern is selected in which the selected topology pattern describes an arrangement of software and hardware devices. Augments to the selected topology pattern are received to form an augmented topology pattern after a selection of a selected topology pattern from a plurality of topology patterns. The augmented topology pattern is transformed into a set of deployable scripts, wherein the set of deployable scripts is used for the software deployment.
