A catalyst composition which comprises a crystalline metallosilicate having the structure of zeolite Beta, phosphor and a matrix that is substantially free of crystalline aluminum phosphate which has improved resistance to steam deactivation which has higher cracking activity than analogous catalysts prepared without phosphorus. The crystalline metallosilicate be used in the as-synthesized form or in the calcined form. included is the method to produce the catalyst composition and methods for the use of catalysts prepared by the present method in organic conversion processes. Specific embodiments of the invention involve various techniques for preparation of catalyst containing phosphorus and crystalline metallosilicates having the structure of zeolite Beta. Catalysts prepared according to the method of this invention are useful for organic compound, e.g., hydrocarbon compound, conversion processes. Organic compound conversion processes include cracking, hydrocracking, and transalkylation, among others.

Hydrocarbon coversion using improved zeolite Beta catalyst

Methods for preparing phosphorus containing catalysts comprising a large-pore zeolite, e.g., zeolite Beta, zeolite ZSM-12, or zeolite ZSM-20, and a matrix which have improved attrition resistance. The present invention includes the catalyst compositions produced by the above methods. Also included in the present invention are methods for the use of catalysts prepared by the present method in hydrocarbon cracking processes. It is desired to develop cracking catalysts for organic compound conversion that have improved cracking yields and have good attrition resistance. This invention involves the use of large pore siliceous zeolites and a highly siliceous matrix to produce a cracking catalyst with improved cracking yields and good attrition resistance. The invention further involves the use of phosphorus and the use of selected sequences for combining the compounds in the manufacture of the catalyst to enhance the attrition resistance of the catalyst.

A catalyst composition which comprises a crystalline metallosilicate having the structure of zeolite Beta, phosphorus, and a matrix that is substantially free of crystalline aluminum phosphate which has improved resistance to steam deactivation and which has higher cracking activity than analogous catalysts prepared without phosphorus. The crystalline metallosilicate may be used in the as-synthesized form or in the calcined form. Also included is the method to produce the catalyst composition and methods for the use of catalysts prepared by the present method in organic conversion processes. Specific embodiments of the invention involve various techniques for preparation of catalysts containing phosphorus and crystalline metallosilicates having the structure of zeolite Beta. Catalysts prepared according to the method of this invention are useful for organic compound, e.g., hydrocarbon compound, conversion processes. Organic compound conversion processes include cracking, hydrocracking, and transalkylation, among others.

Manufacture of improved zeolite Beta catalyst

A novel oligomerization catalyst and process for upgrading olefins employing new synthetic catalyst of ultra-large pore crystalline material. The new crystalline material exhibits unusually large sorption capacity demonstrated by its benzene adsorption capacity of greater than about 15 grams benzene/100 grams at 50 torr and 25.degree. C., a hexagonal electron diffraction pattern that can be indexed with a d.sub.100 value greater than about 18 Angstrom Units and a hexagonal arrangement of uniformly sized pores with a maximum perpendicular cross section of at least about 13 Angstrom units; and the porous crystalline material is impregnated with at least one oligomerization promoting metal, such as Groups VIIIA metals, preferably nickel. The new process is provided for catalytic oligomerization of olefin feedstock which comprises contacting the feedstock under catalytic conversion conditions with the metal-modified acid metallosilicate solid catalyst having the structure of MCM-41 with hexagonal honeycomb lattice structure consisting essentially of uniform pores in the range of about 20 to 100 Angstroms. The oligomerization reaction is very selective, especially when conducted at temperature of 60.degree. to 120.degree. C. Low severity reaction permits excellent conversion of lower olefins at pressure of about 100-13,000 kPa range and moderate space velocity.

Catalytic oligomerization process using modified mesoporous crystalline

Olefin is etherified with alcohol to provide an ether or mixture of ethers employing a catalyst comprising MCM-36.

There is provided a process for converting light olefin to alcohol(s), ether(s) or mixtures of alcohol(s) and ether(s) which comprises contacting a feed containing at least one light olefin with water in the vapor and/or liquid phase under olefin hydration conditions in the presence of MCM-36 as olefin hydration catalyst to produce said alcohol(s) and/or ether(s).

A new process is provied for catalytic oligomerization of lower olefin component in paraffin-containing mixed aliphatic feedstock which comprises contacting the feedstock under catalytic conversion conditions with acid metallosilicate solid catalyst having the structure of MCM-41 with hexagonal honeycomb lattice structure consisting essentially of uniform pores in the range of about 20 to 100 Angstroms. The oligomerization reaction is very selective, especially when conducted at temperature of about 40.degree. to 250.degree. C., yielding branched intermediate olefins. Low severity reaction permits execellent conversion of lower olefins at pressure of about 100-13,000 pKa range and moderate space velocity. Oligomers of propene produced over MCM-41, when reacted under cracking/disproportionation conditions yield a propylene-rich mixture which is separated as a C.sub.3 stream, and C.sub.6 + isoalkenes are recovered in good yield.

The oligomerization reaction is very selective, especially when conducted at temperature of about 40.degree. to 250.degree. C., yielding branched intermediate olefins. Low severity reaction permits excellent conversio of lower olefins at pressure of about 100-13,000 pKa range and moderate space velocity. Intermediate oligomers produced over MCM-41, when reacted under cracking/disproportionation conditions yield etherifiable C.sub.4 + isoalkenese in good yield.
