A syringe pump configured to at least partially surround a syringe loaded into the pump. The syringe pump including a syringe pump housing defining a syringe receptacle shaped and sized to accept loading of the syringe, a plunger driver assembly configured to manipulate a plunger of a syringe loaded into the syringe pump, and a syringe housing including a syringe barrel shield pivotably coupled to the syringe pump housing configured to at least partially enclose a syringe loaded into the syringe pump within the syringe receptacle, and a syringe plunger tray and lid assembly operably coupled to the syringe pump housing and configured to at least partially enclose a portion of the plunger driver assembly.

Systems and methods for syringe handling

Infusion pumps and associated methods for delivering medicament to a user during error conditions. An infusion pump can include a sensor, a pumping mechanism to deliver medicament through an infusion set to the user, and a processor operably coupled to the sensor and the pumping mechanism. The processor can be configured to receive an indication from the sensor of an error condition, and continue operating the pumping mechanism to deliver a predetermined quantity of medicament without correcting the error condition. The predetermined quantity can be based at least in part on a characteristic of the infusion set.

Systems and methods for improving operation of infusion pumps

An LVP that provides peristaltic pumping to removably couplable administration set tubing assemblies supplying medical infusate. The LVP includes a housing, a drive-train assembly, and a controller. The housing includes an assembly receptacle configured to receive an administration set tubing assembly. The drive-train assembly provides mechanical peristaltic movement within the assembly receptacle. The drive-train assembly includes a stepper motor located within the housing and a camshaft assembly, driven by the stepper motor and at least partially extending into the assembly receptacle. The camshaft assembly includes a unitary camshaft and a plurality of tube engaging members that cooperatively move according to rotation of the unitary camshaft. Further, the controller is located within the housing that controls operation of the stepper motor and the camshaft assembly.

Infusion pump systems and methods for administration sets

An infusion pump, including a housing, a user interface, a motor and a set of drive components, and a controller. The housing enables selective stacked attachment with other infusion pumps. The housing includes a top portion with a handle integrated into an outer surface that partially defines a generally U-shaped retaining feature. The housing also includes a bottom portion with a generally U-shaped projection that is contoured to selectively mate with the retaining feature of another infusion pump. The user interface provides a front side to the housing that receives commands regarding infusion pump operation. The motor and set of drive components are at least partially located within the housing and mechanically direct infusion of infusate. The controller is located within the housing and that controls operation of the motor and the set of drive components.

A controller display subsystem for implementing infusion pump interfaces includes a processor, a memory, display logic, keypad I/O, and screen I/O. Display logic can command the processor via the memory to implement desirable displays on screen I/O.

An assembly is configured to position a peristaltic tube with respect to a linear peristaltic pump drive of an infusion pump. The assembly can include a peristaltic tube, first and second tube couplers, a frame, first and second securement plates, a free-flow prevention arm, and a biasing mechanism. The frame can include a snap-fit tab configured to releasably secure the assembly to an assembly receptacle of the infusion pump. The free-flow prevention arm can be selectively movable between a free-flow preventing position and a free-flow allowing position. A latching mechanism can be ergonomically manipulable to latch the free-flow prevention arm in a free-flow allowing position, and to unlatch the free-flow prevention arm such that the biasing mechanism is able to bias the free-flow prevention arm to the free-flow preventing position.

A method for managing use of a disposable with an infusion pump is provided. The method can include adding validity information about a particular set of disposables to a list of disposables. Subsequent to adding the validity information, the method can include modifying the validity information about the particular set of disposables on the list of disposables. The method can include an infusion pump reading identifying information from a disposable, and can include determining whether the disposable is valid for use, based at least in part upon comparison of the identifying information read from the disposable by the infusion pump with the validity information about the particular set of disposables on the list of disposables. The method can also include the infusion pump making a determination of whether to deliver or not deliver an infusate based at least in part upon the determining whether the disposable is valid for use.

Medical device disposables information systems and methods

An infusion pump includes a pumping mechanism having at least one sensor and a pump motor and a pump control subsystem configured to control operation of the pumping mechanism, the pump control subsystem including a processor, a memory, and a startup module configured to drive the pump motor at a first rate, receive input from the at least one sensor, and drive the pump motor at a second rate based on the input received from the at least one sensor. Startup algorithms command an infusion pump to reach a targeted delivery rate or steady state in minimal time without requiring priming of the pump line or otherwise engaging in known methods of pump startup analysis.

A syringe pump configured to mechanically align a force sensor with an axis of a plunger of a syringe for a purpose of minimizing force measurement inaccuracies. The syringe pump includes a syringe pump housing that is configured to receive at least a portion of said syringe, wherein the syringe is selected from a plurality of syringes of different dimensions. A plunger retainer mechanism is pivotably coupled to the syringe pump housing and is configured to retain said plunger of said syringe. The plunger retainer mechanism pivots relative to the syringe pump housing based on a sensed dimension of the plunger to align a force sensor coupled to the plunger retainer mechanism with the axis of the plunger; and a syringe drive mechanism is operably coupled to the syringe pump housing and configured to shift the plunger relative to the portion of the syringe received by the syringe pump housing.

Force sensing devices, systems and methods for syringe pumps

A cell culture system for the production of cells and cell derived products includes a reusable instrumentation base device incorporating hardware to support cell culture growth. A disposable cultureware module including a cell growth chamber is removably attachable to the instrumentation base device. The base device includes microprocessor control and a pump for circulating cell culture medium through the cell growth chamber. The cultureware module is removably attached to the instrumentation base device. Cells are introduced into the cell growth chamber and a source of medium is fluidly attached to the cultureware module. Operating parameters are programmed into the microprocessor control. The pump is operated to circulate the medium through the cell growth chamber to grow cells or cell products therein. The grown cells or cell products are harvested from the cell growth chamber and the cultureware module is then disposed.
