In some examples, a first solar powered furnace may be fluidically coupled to a second solar powered furnace by an array interconnect, which may include a first receiver, a second receiver, and an array interconnect stent that is at least partially inserted into each of the first and second receivers. In some examples, a solar powered furnace may include a back pass air channel defined by a duct floor and a solar absorption plate, and a distance between the duct floor and the solar absorption plate and a flow rate of air may be selected such that air flows through the back pass air channel in a laminar flow regime.

Solar powered furnace and furnace array

A module, included in an electrophotographic printer, for making toner images by a method in which transfer current for electrostatic transfer of toner images to receiver members is adjusted to compensate for ambient variations of toner charge-to-mass ratio (q/m). A predetermined functional relationship between transfer current and a control voltage parameter is utilized. Magnitudes of the control voltage parameter are derived from voltage measurements relating to creation of toner control patches on a photoconductive image-recording member included in a modular electrophotographic printer. Control voltage magnitude is linearly dependent on q/m. The functional relationship, which is characterized by three experimentally determined parameters, is co-optimized for providing efficient transfer of toner images and for minimizing back-transfer of toner away from a receiver member in a transfer station included in the module.

Toner transfer technique

A method and apparatus for conditioning a moving transport web for neutralizing or modifying polar charge density and net charge density on the moving transport web included, for example, in an electrostatographic printer. The web conditioning includes a charging station which has a first stage including two open-wire AC corona chargers facing one another across the transport web, and downstream, a second stage including two gridded AC corona chargers facing one another across the transport web. The grids of the gridded AC corona chargers are preferably grounded, the AC waveforms for energizing the corona wires of the open-wire chargers and the gridded chargers are preferably quasi trapezoidal with no applied DC offsets, with preferably preselected asymmetries in the spacings from the web in the first and second stages. The first stage accomplishes at least about 80% of said neutralizing of said polar charge density.

Web conditioning charging station

A charging device assembly used within a reprographic machine having a hollow shell containing the charging device, an attachment mechanism that retains the charging device relative to the hollow shell in a predetermined position, a pair of end covers at either end of the hollow shell and an electrical connector on the shell coupled to the charging device. The hollow shell can be conductive or insulative and is formed with features that facilitate easy mounting and removing of the elements of the charging device assembly.

Corona chargers having consumer replaceable components

A reproduction apparatus and method provides first and second toner image bearing members (TIBMs). Each of the TIBMs has a respective toner image that is moved through a respective transfer nip with a web that has or supports a toner image receiving surface. Each TIBM in each nip has a predetermined amount of pre-nip wrap by the web and a predetermined amount of post-nip wrap by the web. Electrostatic transfer, preferably in a constant current transfer mode, of a toner image at each transfer nip is made to the receiving surface so that a toner image transferred by the second TIBM is deposited on the receiving surface so as to form a composite image with the toner image transferred to the receiving surface by the first TIBM. Between the nip with the first TIBM and the nip with the second TIBM, a second surface of the web opposite the first surface is subjected to a discharge member at a fixed predetermined potential preferably ground to reduce charge on the web to condition the web for receipt by the receiving surface of a second toner image from the second TIBM.

Reproduction method and apparatus for post-transfer image conditioning

A beverage container for use with a drinking cup for dividing the cup into at least two individual beverage containing cells, each of which forms a discrete beverage container separate from the other. The beverage container comprises a semi-cylindrical, vertically tapered device, sized and shaped for mating insertion into a conventional tapered drinking cup. The beverage container includes a side wall having a top rim forming an opening, and a bottom. The side wall includes a curved, vertically tapered first side wall portion and a generally planar, vertically tapered second side wall portion. An elongated flexible tab is connected on one end thereof along a curved portion of the beverage container rim and folds over the rim of the cup upon insertion. The tab includes indicia for identifying the particular type, flavor, or brand of beverage contained within the beverage container portion of the drinking cup. The present invention thus allows a consumer to enjoy more than one flavor of beverage from a single cup, or, alternatively, allows a consumer to share a drink with a companion in a sanitary manner while allowing the consumer and companion to each consume his or her beverage of choice.
