A device to perform location-based audio signal compensation includes a memory configured to store instructions and one or more processors. The one or more processors are configured to execute the instructions to receive an audio input signal corresponding to sound received from a second device, determine position data indicative of a position of the device, and generate, based on the audio input signal, a compensation filter to be applied to an audio playback signal prior to playout from the second device, to at least partially compensate for distortion associated with sound propagation from the second device to the position of the device.

Method and apparatus for location-based audio signal compensation

A device to process an audio signal representing output sound includes one or more processors configured to generate, responsive to sensor data indicative of pressure detected at a housing of the device, output data based on a predicted effect of the pressure on an acoustic output of the device. The one or more processors are also configured, responsive to the output data, to adjust operation of an audio playback component that generates the acoustic output.

In general, various aspects of the techniques are directed to audio rendering for low frequency effects. A device comprising a memory and a processor may be configured to perform the techniques. The memory may store audio data representative of a soundfield. The processor may analyze the audio data to identify spatial characteristics of low frequency effects components of the soundfield, and process, based on the spatial characteristics, the audio data to render a low frequency effects speaker feed. The processor may also output the low frequency effects speaker feed to a low frequency effects capable speaker.

Audio rendering for low frequency effects

A device to perform audio signal equalization includes one or more processors configured to receive impulse response data corresponding to multiple audio channels. Each audio channel is associated with a corresponding microphone of multiple microphones of an audio device and indicative of sound propagation from one or more speakers of the audio device to the corresponding microphone. The one or more processors are configured to generate equalization filter data that is based on the impulse response data and that is indicative of multiple equalization filters. Each of the equalization filters is associated with a corresponding audio channel of the multiple audio channels. The one or more processors are also configured to process the equalization filter data to determine a playback equalization filter to be applied to an audio playback signal prior to playout at the one or more speakers.
