A running string for a subsea completion comprises an upper section () which may be a coiled tubing (CT) injector unit as shown, or a wireline lubricator (). A lower section () provides wireline/CT access to production/annulus bores of a tubing hanger (not shown) attached to tubing hanger running tool (). A flow package () in the lower section (), together with BOP pipe rams () and annular seal (), directs production and annulus fluid flows/pressures to the BOP choke/kill lines (). The upper and lower sections allow installation and pressure/circulation testing of, and wireline/CT access to, a subsea completion, without the use of a high pressure riser.

Device for installation and flow test of subsea completions

A completion system comprises a christmas tree () mounted on a wellhead housing (), a tubing hanger () landed in the tree or wellhead housing, the wellhead housing () being mounted on a casing string () and a tubing string () being suspended from the tubing hanger within the casing string; wherein, in use, the annulus defined between the tubing () and the casing () serves as a production bore. A second tubing string () is expanded into sealing engagement with the casing string () over at least a portion of their lengths. The annulus normally used to provide well service functions is thus eliminated. Well servicing is instead provided via the tubing string (), which may be coiled tubing.

Central circulation completion system

An ROV, wireline or diver installed subsea xmas tree debris cap has an integral corrosion inhibitor/biocide provided in the form of a solid block which is wrapped in a water soluble membrane bag. The block is suspended inside the debris cap in a basket or perforated container. After installation of the debris cap, the membrane and solid block will dissolve and sanitize the stagnant water, thereby protecting all materials from corrosion for a number of years. The debris cap also includes an environmental seal in the form of a single O ring. Furthermore, the debris cap is simplified in that it does not include a conventional debris cap-to-xmas tree lockdown mechanism.

Debris cap

A horizontal Christmas tree is adapted for ESP/HSP or downhole sensor deployment by a coiled tubing hanger received in the tubing hanger . Coiled tubing suspends downhole equipment such as ESP , and carries power/signal lines. These lines are connected to an external line via a transition connector in a tubing access plug provided in an internal tree cap . A debris cap is provided with a further connector . Self orientating wet mate connectors are provided between the connectors and external line . The coiled tubing hanger and/or tubing hanger may be provided with flow by flutes or holes ( FIGS. and ) sealable by a separate adapter plug ( , FIG. ) above the coiled tubing hanger. Flow test procedures are also disclosed.

Coiled tubing line deployment system

A preferably fiber optic line passes into a well interior through a pressure barrier such as a tree or wellhead housing, via a modified horizontal penetrator assembly. The penetrator assembly comprises double poppet valve assemblies arranged to open upon engagement of the penetrator with an interior well component such as a tubing hanger. Retraction of the penetrator closes the poppet valves, sealing the pressure barrier, severing the line and allowing the tubing hanger to be pulled. A replacement line is readily installed through the open poppet valve assemblies.
