A mounting plate has an opening provided for bonding a solid-state imaging device thereto. The opening of the mounting plate comprises a first edge portion and a second edge portion. The first edge portion corresponds to a first side of part of the contour of a light receiving area of the solid-state imaging device. The second edge portion corresponds to a second side of part of the contour. The first and second edge portions function as reference lines for positioning the solid-state imaging device over said opening.

An optical device includes an optical system mount plate, a casing, and a screw-hole forming part. An optical system is mounted on the optical system mount plate. The optical system mount plate is housed in the casing. The screw-hole forming part is provided on a bottom of the casing such that a screw provided on a tripod head can threadedly fit in the screw-hole forming part. The screw-hole forming part and at least one portion of the bottom are engaged with the optical system mount plate so as to counteract a rotational tightening force that is applied to the screw-hole forming part when the screw is threadedly tighten in the screw-hole forming part.

Optical device

An erecting prism of a binocular includes a first and a second prism, which are held by a holder, and the holder being supported vertically movable and laterally immobile with respect to a thin plate. The thin plate is supported laterally movable and vertically immobile with respect to a right moving body. A shaft reception means is provided, for rotatably supporting a jig, at the right eyepiece cylinder that is attached to the rear wallB of the right moving body. The position of erecting prism is adjusted by using a jig to move the holder vertically with respect to the thin plate, and to move the thin plate laterally with respect to the right moving body. The jig may be supported by the shaft reception means and rotated.

Binocular

In an optical viewer instrument with a photographing function, there is provided a telescopic lens system for observing objects, and a digital camera system including a solid-state image sensor and a photographing lens system associated with each other such that an object is formed as a photographed image on the solid-state image sensor through the photographing lens system. A manually-operable focussing mechanism is associated with the telescopic lens system and the photographing lens system such that the object is brought into focus through the telescopic lens system, and such that the object is brought into focus through the photographing lens system. Optical parameters are selected such that predetermined conditions are fulfilled, whereby the focussing of the telescopic lens system and the focusing of the photographing lens system can be suitably and properly performed by the focussing mechanism.

Optical viewer instrument with photographing function

A binocular telescope comprises right and left slide plates, and right and left mount plates disposed on the right and left slide plates. Right and left telescopic optical systems are mounted on the right and left slide plates which can be moved to adjust interpupillary distance for a user. A part of the right telescopic optical system is mounted on the right mount plate, and a part of the left telescopic optical system is mounted on the left mount plate. The right and left mount plates are moved along the optical axes of the right and left telescopic optical systems, to perform a focusing operation. The right and left slide plates have straight portions extending parallel to the optical axes. The right and left mount plates have right and left guide shoes slidably engaged with the straight portions.

Binocular telescope

A structure for assembly of a binocular telescope with a photographing function, comprises a lower frame, an upper frame, and an engaging mechanism. A pair of telescopic optical systems is mounted on the lower frame. A photographing unit is mounted on the upper frame. A first part of the engaging mechanism is provided on the lower frame. A second part of the engaging mechanism is provided on the upper frame. The first part and the second part are connected by assembling the upper frame onto the lower frame in such a manner that the photographing unit is placed between the pair of telescopic optical systems.

Structure for assembly of binocular telescope with photographing function

A binocular telescope with a photographing function includes a pair of telescopic optical systems, a casing for receiving the telescopic optical systems, and the casing has outer-side end portions. A camera system includes a photographing optical system, and a solid-state image sensor arranged behind and aligned with the photographing optical system, and an electronic control system electronically controls an operation of the camera system. The electronic control system is supplied with electric power from the batteries through an electric power source circuit board. The batteries and the electric power source circuit board are provided at the outer-side end portions of the casing, such that the weight is balanced between the outer-side end portions of the casing.

Binocular telescope with photographing function

In an optical viewer instrument with a photographing function, a telescopic lens system for observing an object and a digital camera system for photographing the object are housed in a casing. A manually-operable rotary wheel is rotatably provided in the casing such that a portion of the rotary wheel is exposed to the outside from the casing to bring the object into focus through the telescopic lens system. A display panel unit for displaying the object as a motion picture on a display screen thereof is mounted on the casing so as to be movable between a retracted position, where the display screen of the display panel unit is close to a wall surface of the casing, and a display position, where the display screen of the display panel unit is directed to the ocular-lens-system side of the telescopic lens system. The rotary wheel is arranged such that the exposed portion of the manually-operable rotary wheel is hidden behind the display panel unit when being at the retracted position.

An optical device comprises a lens barrel and a casing. The casing has two casing sections that are movable relative to each other. A distribution cable is provided in the casing, and extends between the casing sections. The distribution cable is loosely wound around the lens barrel, whereby a movement of the distribution cable, caused by a relative movement of the casing sections, is absorbed by the loosely wound portion of the distribution cable.

An optical-position adjusting device for an optical unit comprises a movement-conversion mechanism that converts a rotational movement of a rotary wheel cylinder into a linear movement of a lens barrel, and an optical-position adjusting mechanism that positions the lens barrel with respect to the rotary wheel cylinder. The optical-position adjusting mechanism has a ring and a fixing member. The ring is fit on the lens barrel in such a manner that the lens barrel can be moved along the central axis thereof. The ring is non-rotatable relative to the lens barrel. The fixing member is provided for fixing the ring to a frame in such a manner that the ring can be released from the frame.

Optical-position adjusting device for optical unit

A lens-holding frame comprises a frame body and a plurality of elastically deformable lens-holding arms. The arms are supported in a cantilever manner by the frame body and they circumscribe a circle having the same diameter as the lens. A positioning member is provided on the frame body along the circumference of the circle so that the positioning member abuts against the circumferential edge of the lens to define the lens holding position. Each arm is provided with a projection that penetrates inside the circle. The projection has a tapered surface, so that when the circumferential edge of the lens is engaged with the projections and the lens is pushed in toward the positioning member, the arms are elastically pushed open and the circumferential edge of the lens rides over the projections, whereby the lens is held.

Lens-holding frame

An erecting prism of a binocular includes a first and a second prism, which are held by a holder, and the holder being supported vertically movable and laterally immobile with respect to a thin plate. The thin plate is supported laterally movable and vertically immobile with respect to a right moving body. A shaft reception means is provided, for rotatably supporting a jig, at the right eyepiece cylinder that is attached to the rear wall B of the right moving body. The position of erecting prism is adjusted by using a jig to move the holder vertically with respect to the thin plate, and to move the thin plate laterally with respect to the right moving body. The jig may be supported by the shaft reception means and rotated.

An zooming adjustment mechanism for an optical system is provided for reducing the length of the optical system along its optical axis, and enable the size down of the optical system. A cam ring is provided for adjusting distances between a first lens and a second lens that are constituting a telescope optical system in a binocular. Each of a first cam groove and a second cam groove includes two grooves. Two first cam grooves and two second cam grooves are formed on an outer circumferential surface at a distance along the circumferential direction. The two first cam grooves and the two second cam grooves are formed on the same area of the circumferential direction about the axis of the cam ring, i.e., the axis of a main shaft direction.

Zooming adjustment mechanism

A binocular, including a right and left lens barrels respectively having a right and left telescope optical systems, is provided with a space occupied by a movement member that moves lenses to vary at least magnification so as to reduce the size of the binocular. First and second lens sliders, connected to a first and second lens, are moved along an optical axis direction of the telescope optical system so that the first and second lens, are moved along the optical axis direction. The first and second lens sliders move inside the space defined by the right and left telescope optical systems and a flat supporting plate.

First lens frame has first front and rear shaft bearings that engage with the first guiding shaft along the optical axis, and a second shaft bearing that engages with a second guiding shaft along the optical axis. The first front and rear shaft bearings are spaced apart from each other along the first guiding shaft. Second lens frame has third front and rear shaft bearings that engage with the second guiding shaft, spaced apart form each other, and fourth shaft bearing that engages with the first guiding shaft. The third front and rear shaft bearings are arranged with the second shaft bearing between them, and fourth shaft bearing is disposed between the first front and second shaft bearings.
