The mixer insert () for a static mixer () extends in one longitudinal direction (L), the mixer insert () having a multitude of elements () running transverse to the longitudinal direction (L) and at least two longitudinal supports () running in longitudinal direction (L), and the static mixer insert () consisting of a multitude of base elements () arranged alongside one another in longitudinal direction (L), each base element () comprising a longitudinal support (), and the base elements () and their longitudinal supports () being arranged relative to one another such that a longitudinal support () running over the entire length of the mixer insert () is present, and base elements () arranged alongside one another are bonded to one another in a fixed manner at least via the longitudinal supports ().

Mixing element for a static mixer and process for producing such a mixing element

A static fluid mixer includes a cylindrical flow conduit and at least two inclined, axially spaced, and circumferentially offset internal baffle members for creating counter-rotating vortices in fluids passing through the conduit. The baffle members each have upstream edges spaced from an inner surface of the conduit by a first distance less than a radius of the conduit and downstream edges that are spaced from the inner surface of conduit by a second distance that is greater than the first distance. The baffle members can each have a trapezoidal shape with the downstream edge being smaller in length than the upstream edge thereof.

Vortex static mixer

The mixer tube for low viscosity fluids contains plate-shaped elements which at one or at several points of the tube partially cover or block off its cross-section. The constrictions left free through the elements each comprise at least one gap-shaped region, with a longitudinal extent of this gap extending from tube wall to tube wall through the tube axis or from the tube wall through the tube axis to a second partial region. The gap subtends an angle with the tube axis in the range between about 20.degree. and 60.degree., preferably between 35.degree. and 45.degree.. A mixing path is provided after the constriction in the direction of flow. The fluid to be mixed can contain solid substances in suspension.

Mixer tube for low viscosity fluids

The apparatus for treating fluids with ultraviolet radiation comprises at least one elongate cylindrical excimer radiator and at least one chamber (2) provided as a through-flow and treatment section for the fluid. The or each radiator has a discharge volume (10) and two electrodes (19, 20) with one of the electrodes (20) being arranged in the chamber (2) provided for the fluid. According to the invention, the electrode (20) in the fluid chamber (2) is formed as a static mixer for the fluid (21) as a so-called static mixer electrode.

Apparatus for treating fluids with ultraviolet radiation

The static mixing device includes a tubular casing and at least one mixing element composed of individual webs which are secured in the wall of the casing. The webs are disposed in crossing relation to each other with a transverse spacing therebetween. The terminal ends of each web are secured within the wall of the casing by being shrink-fitted, soldered, welded or threaded.
