An injection arrangement for injecting a pressure medium, especially fuel, into a cylinder of an internal combustion engine, specifically a large diesel engine with several cylinders, comprising at least two injection pump elements (1a,1b) arranged in a common pump body (1) and arranged to inject the pressure medium into the same cylinder during at least one continuous injection period, each pump element (1a,1b) including a pump cylinder (7a,7b), a piston member (8a,8b) reciprocatingly movable therein and a pressure chamber (13,13a,13b). The piston members (8a,8b) receive their control from a cam race (5a,5b) of at least one cam arranged in a camshaft (4) or the like of the engine and the pressure chambers (13,13a,13b,13c) in the pump cylinders (7a,7b) are continuously in connection with each other. In order to determine the entire volume of the injection during said injection period as well as the speed and timing of the injection affecting it the piston members (8a,8b) are provided with control edges for the timing of the injection so that the control edge (10b) in one of the piston members (8b) determines the starting moment of the injection and the control edge (10a) in the other piston member (8a) respectively determines the termination of the injection during movement of the piston members (8a,8b) towards the direction of the pressure chambers (13,13a,13b,13c).

The invention relates to a method, and to an engine for applying the method, for testing different substances, such as lubrication substances, cooling substances and/or fuels or the like, in a combustion engine, especially in a big diesel engine, which comprises at least two, preferably several cylinders. According to the invention at least for the part of one cylinder the supply and circulation of at least one substance is arranged separately and sealed from the corresponding substance systems for the other cylinders of the engine, and for the part of said cylinder the composition and/or some physical property, for instance temperature, of said substance to be supplied is changed in comparison with the substance to be circulated simultaneously in the corresponding substance system for the other cylinders in the engine. Additionally for testing of lubrication and cooling substances the part of the crankshaft and of the crankcase of the engine corresponding to said cylinder is sealed by means of partitions tightly from the parts of the crankshaft and of the crankcase corresponding to the adjoining cylinders and is provided at the position between said partitions with separate supply and distribution ducts for lubrication and cooling substances.

The invention relates to a distribution and control valve in a fuel injection engine pump especially for a large multi-cylinder diesel engine, in which the fuel is injected into the cylinder by mdans of two or more injection valves (A;B). The pump includes a pump cylinder (1) and, inside thereof in a pump chamber (2), a reciprocatingly movable piston member (4), which is arranged through its movement to feed fuel via distribution ducts to the injection valves of the cylinder in question. The pump cylinder (1) is provided with an extra chamber (11) connected to the pump chamber (2), to which extra chamber there is tightly adapted a long-shaped valve member (12) following the movements of the piston member in the axial direction thereof, and inside the valve member (12) there is a fuel duct (13) connected to the pump chamber (2). The feed ducts (16;5a,5b) of the separate valves are connected to the extra chamber (11) in the axial direction of the valve member (12) to different points distant from each other. The valve member (12) is provided with control and feeding means to direct fuel in a desired way from the pump chamber (2) to the feed ducts (16; 5a, 5b) of each injection valve (A;B).
