Microencapsulated pyrethroidal cockroach-controlling composition is provided, which has an excellent residual effect. The composition comprises phenylxylylethane and a pyrethroidal compound and is encapsulated in microcapsules formed of a polyurethane wall which have an average particle diameter of not more than 80 .mu.m, a wall thickness of not more than 0.3 .mu.m, and a value of the average particle diameter/wall thickness of 100-400.

A mono-layer liquid phase type water-based insecticidal aerosol comprises a base liquid for aerosol containing at least one specific pyrethroidal compound, a specific organic solvent and a specific buffer solution, which base liquid has a pH of from 7.0 to 11.0, and dimethyl ether as a propellant. The aerosol according to the present invention has a long-term storage stability as well as an excellent insecticidal activity and causes no degradation of the container.

A mono-layer liquid phase type water-based insecticidal aerosol comprises (A) a base liquid for aerosol containing at least one specific pyrethroidal compound, a specific organic solvent and a buffer solution, which base liquid has a pH of from 7.0 to 9.0 and (B) dimethyl ether as a propellant. The aerosol according to the present invention has a long-term storage stability, as well as an excellent insecticidal activity and causes no degradiation of the container.

A composition which comprises (a) at least one insecticide selected from the group consisting of organic phosphorous insecticides, carbamate insecticides and pyrethroid insecticide, (b) crystalline cellulose and (c) crop product powders evaporated with (d) an essential oil and (e) a saccharide respectively in amounts of 0.1 to 10.0% by weight and 10.0 to 40.0% by weight based on the total weight of the composition, which is useful as a bait for the control of noxious insects.

A bag for protecting grains from insect pests harmful to stored grains is produced by treating one piece of kraft paper with an insecticidal solution containing a pyrethroide insecticide, laminating 1 to 5 pieces of kraft paper, to which the pyrethroidal insecticidal compound is not applied, onto the insecticidally unprocessed surface of the former kraft paper, and then forming the resulting kraft paper laminate into a bag so that the surface, to which the pyrethroid insecticide has been applied, of the former kraft paper faces the outside. When grains are preserved in the bag according to the present invention, the grains can effectively be protected from insect pests harmful to stored grains.

Termites are prevented by applying thereto microencapsulated organophosphorus termite controlling composition in an amount of 5-100 g as an effective ingredient. The composition comprises an organophosphorus insecticidal compound encapsulated in a microcapsule formed of a polyurea or polyurethane wall and having an average particle diameter of not more than 80 .mu.m, a wall thickness of 0.1-1 .mu.m, and a value of the average particle diameter/wall thickness of 20-400.

An insecticidal composition containing an inert carrier and as active ingredients an insecticidally effective amount of a mixture comprising 2-allyl-3-methylcyclopento-2-ene-1-one-4-yl 2',2',3',3'-tetramethylcyclopropanecarboxylate or 2-propargyl-3-methylcyclopento-2-ene-1-one-4-yl 2',2',3',3'-tetramethylcyclopropanecarboxylate, and 3-phenoxybenzyl chrysanthemate, 5-benzyl-3-furylmethyl chrysanthemate or 3-phenoxybenzyl 2',2'-dimethyl-3'-(2',2'-dichlorovinyl)cyclopropane-1'-carboxylate, and N-(3,4,5,6-tetrahydrophthalimido)methyl chrysanthemate, which has synergistic lethal and knock-down effect on harmful insanitary insects as well as a synergistic flushing-out effect on cockroaches particularly as oil sprays, emulsifiable concentrates and aerosols.
