A cage is provided which is less likely to be deformed by a centrifugal force, and in which the strength of a weld is less likely to decrease. Each horn portion includes a base wall axially connected to a ring portion, and located between pockets, and a pair of claws separated from each other. The pair of claws each has a pocket inner surface facing the pocket, and an opposed surface on the side opposite from the pocket inner surface. The base wall includes a pair of connection portions axially connecting the respective claws to the ring portion, and an intermediate portion circumferentially connecting the connection portions to each other. A weld is disposed in a resin area consisting of one of the claws, one of the connection portions, and a circumferential section of the ring portion.

Cage and ball bearing

A bearing assembly for a turbocharger includes a turbine wheel-side ball bearing at a first axial end of a tubular body, a compressor impeller-side ball bearing at a second axial end of the tubular body, and a bearing housing. The bearing housing includes a first opposed wall opposed to an axially outer side of an outer race of the turbine wheel-side ball bearing, and a second opposed wall opposed to an axially outer side of an outer race of the compressor impeller-side ball bearing. The outer race of the turbine wheel-side ball bearing and the outer race of the compressor impeller-side ball bearing have axially outer end surfaces which are axially outwardly displaced from respective axial end surfaces of the tubular body so that oil films are present between the respective outer races and the corresponding opposed walls.

A chain guide includes a guide base () disposed to face one side of a timing chain () that transmits torque, the chain guide having an opposed pair of side plates () each formed with a plurality of shaft engaging portions () arranged along a circular arc. Roller shafts () have their ends supported by the respective shaft engaging portions (). Rollers () for guiding the chain are rotatably supported by the respective roller shafts (). Noncylidrical surface engaging portions are formed on the ends of the roller shafts () and on closed ends of the shaft engaging portions () to rotationally fix the roller shafts (), thereby preventing the roller shafts () from rotating under drag torque applied from the rollers ().

Chain guide and chain transmission device

A chain guide includes roller element bearings adapted to guide, while rolling, a timing chain through which torque is transmitted. The chain guide further includes a guide base arranged along one side of the timing chain and having an opposed pair of side plates. Each side plate is formed with plural shaft engaging portions arranged so as to lie on a circular arc. The chain guide further includes roller shafts having their ends supported by the respective shaft engaging portions, and rotatably supporting the roller element bearings. An oil guide hole is formed in a wall surface of each shaft engaging portion facing the end surface of the roller shaft so as to extend through the side plate to its outer side surface.
