A rotor for a fiberising apparatus includes a rotor housing; a first and second bearing assembly, wherein each bearing assembly has at least two ball bearings, each seated in a respective bearing seat; a substantially horizontal shaft rotatably mounted between the first bearing assembly and the second bearing assembly; and a plurality of resilient dampers arranged in an annular ring, wherein each resilient damper is releasably connected at a first end to the bearing seat and is releasably connected at a second end to the inner wall of the rotor housing.

The present invention concerns a method and an apparatus for making mineral fibre products by splitting an incoming primary web, said apparatus comprising a feeding conveyor for providing an incoming primary web of air-laid mineral wool, said feeding conveyor having a first direction of travel; a station for shifting the direction of travel of the primary web by receiving the primary web on a turning table and then transferring the primary web onto a receiving conveyor, where said receiving conveyor has a second direction of travel different to the first direction of travel; wherein a web splitter is provided at the downstream end of said receiving conveyor for dividing the incoming primary web into a first primary web and second primary web and wherein the turning table is shiftable in the first direction of travel.

Method and an apparatus for making mineral fibre products

Method for manufacturing an aerogel-containing composite, said method comprising the steps of: providing fibers, at least some of which are first fibers, such as mineral fibers, polymer fibers, cellulose fibers, or other types of fibers, in an amount of from 3 to 80 wt % of the total weight of starting materials, providing an aerogel particulate material in an amount of from 10 to 75 wt % of the total weight of starting materials, providing a binder in an amount of from 1 to 30 wt % of the total weight of starting materials, suspending the fibers in a primary air flow and suspending the aerogel particulate material in the primary air flow, thereby mixing the suspended aerogel particulate material with the suspended fibers, mixing the binder with the fibers and/or aerogel particulate material before, during or after mixing of the fibers with the aerogel particulate material, collecting the mixture of fibers, aerogel particulate material and binder and pressing and curing the mixture to provide a consolidated composite with a density of from 120 kg/mto 800 kg/m. With this method homogeneous composites can be produced.

Method for manufacturing an aerogel-containing composite and composite produced by that method

A method of forming a cured mineral fiber product which includes at least a top layer having mineral fibers and a base layer having mineral fibers. The method includes the steps of providing the top layer web including uncured mineral wool, providing the base layer web including cured mineral wool, joining the uncured top layer web and the cured base layer web to form an assembled laminate, and curing the top layer web in a curing oven by transporting the assembled laminate into a curing oven having an upper conveyor and a lower conveyor for curing the assembled laminate, the assembled laminate being positioned between the upper and lower conveyors. The uncured top layer web is compressed by at least 50% as it enters into the curing oven.

Method of forming a cured mineral fibre product

The invention relates to a method for manufacturing an insulating composite containing mineral fibers, aerogel and binder. This method implies the step of suspending the fiber webs and aerosol in an air flow thereby disentangling the fiber webs and mixing fibers, aerosol and eventually binder homogeneously. The apparatus described combines spinning of the fibers, collecting them as webs, disentangling the fiber webs in suspended air, mixing the fibers with aerogel and cement as well as pressing and curing the mixture to a consolidated product of density 150 to 800 kg/m.

A method for manufacturing a fiber-containing element, said method comprising the steps of: providing fibers, at least some of which are first fibers, such as mineral fibers, polymer fibers, cellulose fibers, or other types of fibers, in an amount of from 3 to 98 wt % of the total weight of starting materials in the form of a collected web, providing a binder in an amount of from 1 to 30 wt % of the total weight of starting materials, subjecting the collected web of fibers to a disentanglement process, suspending the fibers in a primary air flow, mixing the binder with the fibers before, during or after the disentanglement process, providing a filler, such as a fire retardant, in an amount of 1 to 55 wt % of the total weight of starting materials, adding the filler at any suitable step of the method, such as before, during or after the disentanglement process, collecting the mixture of fibers, filler and binder and pressing and curing the mixture to provide a consolidated composite with a density of from 120 kg/mto 1000 kg/m. With this method homogeneous composites can be produced.

Method for manufacturing a fibre-containing element and element produced by that method

The invention relates to a method for manufacturing a mineral fiber-containing composite and the novel mineral fiber-containing element produced by that method. The invention also relates to an apparatus suitable for carrying out the method of the invention.
