In one embodiment, a medical system includes a catheter configured to be inserted into a heart of a living subject, and including electrodes configured to capture electrical activity of the heart at respective position in the heart, a display, and processing circuitry configured to receive position signals from the catheter, and in response to the position signals compute the respective positions of the electrodes, generate an anatomical map responsively to respective ones of the computed positions, find an anatomical feature of the heart and a position of the anatomical feature responsively to the respective positions of, and electrical activity captured by, respective ones of the electrodes, automatically segment the anatomical map responsively to the found position of the anatomical feature, and render the anatomical map to the display.

Automatic anatomical feature identification and map segmentation

An apparatus includes an interface and a processor. The interface is configured for exchanging signals with: (i) a probe, which is inserted into a body of a patient and includes a flexible distal-end assembly, wherein the distal-end assembly comprises a magnetic position sensor and two or more intra-body electrodes, and, (ii) multiple body-surface electrodes attached externally to the body of the patient. The processor is configured to estimate, based on the signals exchanged with the probe, a spatial displacement of the magnetic sensor between consecutive measurements, and to estimate a position of the distal-end assembly in the body based on (i) the signals exchanged with the intra-body electrodes and the body-surface electrodes, (ii) a-priori known spatial relationships between two or more of the intra-body electrodes of the probe and (iii) the estimated spatial displacement of the magnetic sensor.

Catheter localization using current location combined with magnetic-field sensing

In one embodiment, a medical system includes respective electrodes for application to a body of a subject and to output a set of respective activation signals in response to electrical activity of a heart of the subject captured over a sequence of heartbeat intervals, and a processor to classify a first heartbeat interval of the set of activation signals as a first morphological template, compute a measure of similarity between a second heartbeat interval of the set of activation signals and the first morphological template, group the second heartbeat interval of the set of activation signals in a first morphological group with the first morphological template responsively to the measure exceeding a predefined threshold, and classify the second heartbeat interval of the set of activation signals as a second morphological template responsively to the measure not exceeding the predefined threshold, and repeat the above, mutatis mutandis, for subsequent heartbeat intervals.

Automatic pattern acquisition

A method includes receiving an anatomical map of at least a portion of a heart. Positions and respective electrocardiogram (ECG) signal amplitudes measured at the positions are received for at least a region of the anatomical map. The ECG signal amplitudes are interpolated to derive a surface representation of the ECG signal amplitudes over the region. The surface representation of the ECG signal amplitudes is presented overlaid on the anatomical map.

Electrophysiological ripple mapping visualization method

A method, including configuring, in a memory, a first buffer to store first buffer data, a second buffer to store second buffer data, and a variable indicative of a persisted size of real-time data persisted to a storage device. On the storage device, a file is configured to store the real-time data and a field is configured to store the variable. A stream of the real-time data is received, and the stream is appended to the first buffer data. Upon meeting a write criteria, the first buffer data in is swapped with the second buffer data, a buffer size of the second buffer data is added to the variable, and the second buffer data is conveyed from the second buffer to a write cache. Upon meeting a commit criteria, the stream stored in the write cache is appended to the file, and the variable is persisted to the field.

Double buffering with atomic transactions for the persistent storage of real-time data flows

An apparatus, including an insertion tube having a proximal tube end and a distal tube end that includes an electrode, a first irrigation line including proximal and distal irrigation line ends and configured to supply fluid from the distal irrigation line end through apertures in the tube, and an electrical line including a proximal electrical line end and a distal electric line end coupled to the electrode. The apparatus includes a slip ring unit having a stator, a rotor connected to the proximal electrical line end, and a hollow channel extending through respective centers of the stator and the rotor along a longitudinal axis of the slip ring unit. The apparatus includes a rotary joint in fluid communication with the proximal irrigation line end, an angle sensor configured to detect torsion of the proximal irrigation line end, and a drive mechanism coupled to rotate the rotor responsively to the torsion.
