A removable electronic device includes a detector for detecting a mode of operation to distinguish among a multimedia card (MMC) compatible mode, a universal serial bus (USB) compatible mode, and a Mu mode, a wrapper for converting data for transfer between the USB compatible mode and the Mu mode, a USB physical layer circuit for transferring data compatible with the USB compatible mode, a USB compatible device controller for controlling data transfer in the USB compatible mode, and an MMC compatible device controller for controlling data transfer in the MMC compatible mode.

Removable electronic device and method thereof

A multi-swap communication module includes a motherboard and a daughterboard. The motherboard is provided with a plurality of necessary components for maintaining the operation of a wireless communication card and the daughterboard is connectable with the motherboard. The daughterboard is a modular add-on card swappable according to different requests, while the motherboard reads control data selectively either in the motherboard or in the daughterboard by means of a swapping action of the daughterboard.

The present invention provides a modular packing integrated circuit card and its manufacturing method. The above modular packing integrated circuit card comprises a shell, a composite chip unit, and a switch card with a specific interface format. The switch card has a predetermined space for locating the composite chip unit, and enabling the predetermined pins of the composite chip unit to be connected with the predetermined lines of the switch card. The switch card further includes an interface device for a specific interface format so as to connect with the predetermined lines. Finally, the switch card is fastened in the shell. Consequently, the composite chip unit can be manufactured as different interface formats by using different switch cards, such that different interface formats are easier to be exchanged with each other.

Method and integrated circuits of module packing

A memory card having a plurality of different interfaces is disclosed. The memory card comprises a function module, a controller coupled to the function module for accessing, a first buffer coupled to the controller for sending a first control signal, and a second buffer coupled to the controller for sending a second control signal. The memory card activates one interface for detecting a first voltage level of the first buffer when the memory card is inserted into a first card reader, and the first buffer is activated to send the first control signal if the detection is positive. Alternatively, the memory card activates the other interface for detecting a second voltage level of the second buffer when the memory card is inserted into a second card reader, and the second buffer is activated to send the second control signal if the detection is positive.

Memory card having a plurality of different interfaces

An extended memory card capable of coupling to a reduced size memory card and having an electrical connection to a card reader is disclosed. The extended memory card comprises a first flash memory and a first client controller, where the card reader accesses to the first flash memory by controlling the operation of the first client controller. The reduced size memory card further comprises a second flash memory and a second client controller, where a host controller accesses to the second flash memory by controlling the operation of the second client controller. The extended memory card coupled to the reduced size memory card has the same size as an MMC card. The reduced size memory card has the same size as the RS-MMC card.

A small electronic card with peripheral contacts includes a body, a plurality of front end contacts and a plurality of extended contacts placed along the two side edges. The plurality of extended contacts are used for increasing the data transmission bandwidth, and thus the data transmission speed, and the arrangement of the extended contacts does not affect the design of the reader, while preventing short circuit caused by pins touching incorrect contacts.

A GPRS replaceable module communication device includes a motherboard and a daughter board. The motherboard includes necessary components for enabling GPRS module operation and selecting module interface and setting, while the daughter board is a modularized add-on card whose function is determined by a replaceable module. The same GPRS motherboard can be used to accommodate different daughter boards for different functions, and the GPRS motherboard determines either to read the control data on the motherboard, or the control data on the daughter board by the insertion or removal of the daughter board.

Mixed interface integrated circuit card

A portable USB device built with rechargeable functional apparatus is disclosed. The portable USB device has a USB connector for being inserted into a socket of a host device. A USB device module is powered by the +5V pin on the USB connector and activated to perform data exchange via the D+ and D&#x2212; pins on the USB connector when the USB connector is coupled to the host device, so as to provide a first specific function to the host device. A charge circuit charges the rechargeable battery via the +5V pin when the USB connector is coupled to the host device. A functional apparatus is powered by the rechargeable battery so as to provide second specific function different from the first one when the USB connector is not coupled to the host device.

A storage memory device includes a primary body comprised of a first memory card at one side and a connection portion at the other side. Contacts are provided in the connection portion and in electrical connection with the first memory card to serve as a data transmission interface for the first memory card. The storage memory device further includes a secondary body forming a first slot for receiving the connection portion therein. The secondary body may include a second memory card electrically connectable to the first memory card via the contacts of the connection portion. Alternatively, the second memory card of the secondary body is omitted and replaced by a second slot into which another primary body comprised of a connection portion having contacts and a memory card is received. Thus, electrical connection and data exchange between the two memory cards, either between the first and second memory cards or between the two first memory cards, can be done easily with the contacts of the connection portions.

Storage memory device

A non-volatile memory based storage system capable of directly overwriting without using redundancy and its writing method are provided. The invention first writes data into a register. Then, a portion of MCF information of the decoded logical writing destination address is taken as a physical writing address and used to determine whether there is data in a block corresponding to the physical writing address. If yes, a new swap block is taken out from a swap table and at least one record of data in the register is written into the swap block.

A mini-type connector has a substrate, a plurality of metal joints and a metal frame. The substrate includes a connector and a circuit board, wherein the connector is extended from the circuit board. The plurality of metal joints is assembled to the connector of the substrate for being electrically connected to an external electronic device. The metal frame covers the connector of the substrate for enhancing the stress-resistance strength of the connector. The connector is integrally formed with the circuit board.
