A method for operating a driver information system in an ego vehicle is provided, wherein weather data are detected for a road area lying in front of the ego vehicle in the direction of driving. A driver information display is generated and output, wherein the driver information display comprises a graphic lane object which represents the road section lying in front of the ego vehicle. In so doing, the graphic lane object has a depiction parameter that is generated depending on the weather data.

A method for operating a driver information system in an ego vehicle is provided, wherein environment data are detected in an environment of the ego vehicle. A driver information display is generated and output, wherein the driver information display comprises a graphic depiction of the environment of the ego vehicle. An operating state of a driver assistance system of the ego vehicle is detected, and an automation level is determined with reference to the detected operating state of the driver assistance system. The depiction of the environment is generated depending on the determined automation level.

Systems, apparatuses and methods for assisting a user in the operation of a touch-sensitive operator control unit, where a presence of input means, such as a user's finger, is detected in a predefined first area in front of the operator control unit, and, in response to it, acknowledging of the detected presence by a predefined first audio output. The first area may be bounded in a direction parallel to a surface of the operator control unit corresponding to a button displayed on the operator control unit. The crossover of the input means from the first area into a predefined second area in front of the operator's control unit may also be detected and acknowledged by a predefined second audio output. Also, a predefined pattern of movement of the input means in the first area may be detected and acknowledged via audio or visual indicia.

User interface and method for assisting a user when operating an operating unit

In a method for the operator control of a motor vehicle having a display for displaying variable information and having a microphone, the viewing direction of an operator of the motor vehicle is ascertained, it is checked whether the viewing direction of the operator is aimed toward the display, and information assigned to an acoustic command is shown on the display when a corresponding acoustic command is given while the viewing direction of the operator is aimed toward the display.
