A subterranean wellbore assembly includes an outer cylindrical wall and an inner cylindrical wall cooperatively defining an annular space. A seal assembly is disposed within the annular space. The seal assembly includes chevron seals. Each chevron seal includes a central portion and two axially and radially extending wing portions. Chevron seals may be of polymeric PEEK material or of nickel based material. Other seal assemblies may be arranged in the annular space in place of the seal assembly.

Metal chevron axial seal

Described is a valve face seal assembly. The assembly includes a moveable member, such as a poppet, and a seal having a sealing portion carried by the moveable member. A seat opposite the sealing portion of the seal has a transaxial seat face and an axial seat face extending axially toward the moveable member at an obtuse angle from the transaxial seat face. When the seal of the moveable member is brought into contact with the seat, a seal is formed with the transaxial seat face and with the axial seat face.

High-pressure face seal

A seal assembly () comprising a sealing body (), a shoe (), a first collar (), and a second collar (). The shoe () is positioned within a space defined by radially inner surfaces of the sealing body (), the first collar () is positioned on a first axial side of the sealing body (), and the second collar () is positioned on a second axial side of the sealing body (). These components () collectively form inter-component sealing surfaces, pocket sealing surfaces, gate sealing surfaces and/or part sealing surfaces which prevent the infiltration of outside fluid into, and the escape of operative fluid from, a fluid coupling.
