A method at a first computing device providing a local traffic service, the method including detecting a vehicle is transitioning to a region of control of a second local traffic service; and providing, to a second traffic management service, priority information for the vehicle.

Method and system for traffic management

A method, mobile device () and radio access network RAN () are disclosed for suspending and re-establishing a radio resource control (RRC) connection. In some examples, the mobile device () indicates a preference to have the RRC connection either suspended or released. In other examples, RAN () sends to the mobile device () a connection suspend command message instructing the mobile device to suspend a RRC connection with the RAN (). The mobile device (), in response to the connection suspend command message, suspends the RRC connection. When the RRC connection is suspended the mobile device () cannot transmit or receive user plane data to the RAN () and performs functions the same as or similar to idle mode functions. On suspension, RRC connection information is stored and can be used to re-establish the suspended RRC connection.

Simplified UE + eNB messaging

Methods and devices for encoding a point cloud. A current node associated with a sub-volume is split into further sub-volumes, each further sub-volume corresponding to a child node of the current node, and, at the encoder, an occupancy pattern is determined for the current node based on occupancy status of the child nodes. A probability distribution is selected from among a plurality of probability distributions based on occupancy data for a plurality of nodes neighbouring the current node. The encoder entropy encodes the occupancy pattern based on the selected probability distribution to produce encoded data for the bitstream and updates the selected probability distribution. The decoder makes the same selection based on occupancy data for neighbouring nodes and entropy decodes the bitstream to reconstruct the occupancy pattern.

Supported extended emergency information type

In some examples, a system detects an accident involving a first vehicle, where the detecting is based on an accident indication received by the service over a network from a second vehicle not involved in the accident, the second vehicle different from the first vehicle, and where the accident indication from the second vehicle is responsive to messages received by the second vehicle from other vehicles. In response to the detecting of the accident, the system verifies that the accident occurred by sending, from the service, queries to a roadside unit and a third vehicle, and receiving, at the service, responses to the queries from the roadside unit and the third vehicle, the responses containing event data collected by the roadside unit and the third vehicle of events in a vicinity of the accident.

Systems and methods to configure sidelink resources in a dual connectivity operation are provided. In some aspect, a method comprising: transmitting, from a user equipment (UE), a first message to a first evolved Node B (eNB), wherein the first message indicates a request to establish a sidelink communication; receiving, at the UE, a second message from the first eNB, wherein the second message indicates a frequency that is used by a secondary evolved Node B (SeNB); transmitting, from the UE, a measurement result to the first eNB; and receiving, at the UE, sidelink configuration information from the first eNB, wherein the sidelink configuration information indicates sidelink resources managed by the secondary eNB.

Configuring sidelink communications

A communication system and method for supporting a plurality of vehicle-to-everything radio access technologies (V2X RATs) is provided. The communication system configured to support multiple V2X RATs transmits, using a first V2X RAT, an indication of its availability to support an interworking function between the plurality of V2X RATs. The communication system receives an instruction to provide the interworking function between different V2X RATs. The interworking function may be incorporated in a vehicle that is joined to a platoon configured to use a first V2X RAT, and provide the interworking function between the first and a second V2X RAT. The interworking function may be used to add further vehicles to the platoon that communicate using only the second V2X RAT.

Interworking system and operation in V2X applications

In some examples, a wireless device receives, from a wireless access network node, an indication of a supported extended emergency information (EEI) type supported by a wireless local area network (WLAN). The supported EEI type is selected from among a plurality of different EEI types. The wireless device sends a message relating to an emergency call, the message including EEI data according to the supported EEI type.

In some examples, a system detects an accident involving a first vehicle, and responsive to the detecting of the accident, collects event data relating to the accident from a second vehicle that is different from the first vehicle.

A method at a power-limited computing station for communicating in an intelligent transport system, the method including operating the computing station in one of a non-critical radio operating state and a safety-critical radio operating state; receiving a trigger at the computing station; determining whether the trigger should cause the computing station to transition a radio operating state; and if the trigger should cause the computing station to transition the radio operating state, changing the radio operating state to the other of the non-critical radio operating state and the safety-critical radio operating state.

Pedestrian safety communication system and method

In some examples, by a first network node of a first network sends, in response to a request from a user equipment (UE) served by a second network, scheduling information to a second network node of the second network, the scheduling information granting a resource for use by the UE for a direct wireless transmission between the UE and a wireless device, where the first network is different from the second network, and where the sending of the scheduling information to the second network node of the second network is to cause the second network node of the second network to send the scheduling information to the UE.
