An attachment to a shovel having a shovel head and a handle is provided, converting the shovel into a tool for collecting debris. The attachment has a clamping head and a pivot arm shorter than the shovel handle, and a pivot for attaching the attachment to the shovel handle. The attachment is movable between a closed position when the shovel head and the clamping head are juxtaposed face to face forming a tunnel therebetween, and an open position when the shovel head and the clamping head are spaced apart. In operation, the clamping head is moved into an open position to collect debris, and then moved into a closed position towards the shovel head to secure the debris, followed by rotating the tool by 90&#xb0; plus an offset angle, thereby causing the clamping head to open under its weight and the debris to fall through the tunnel.

Registering an IP phone with an IP phone switch

A packet switched communication system providing DPNSS standard voice and signaling data over IP, comprising connection services software for mapping IP addresses and port numbers to thirty IP trunks, wherein each of the IP addresses is used by a network layer of the DPNSS standard to route packets to a predetermined terminating node and each of the port numbers is used by a link layer of the DPNSS standard to deliver signaling data to a predetermined port within the terminating node. A far end message interface thread is provided for placing the signaling data and a Link Access Protocol (LAP) number into a data portion of each IP packet to permit reassociation of the signaling data at the terminating node to an associated one of the IP trunks.

Digital private signaling system over internet protocol

A system for extending remote digital telephone set functionality over a public switched telephone network from a local PBX, comprising a local peripheral connected to the PBX for bidirectionally communicating combined digital voice and data signals with the PBX, and a remote peripheral connected to the remote digital telephone set. Each of the local and remote peripherals include circuitry for separating and recombining the combined digital voice and data signals into respective voice and data components for bidirectional communication between the peripherals over individual voice and data channels, such that the remote digital telephone set functions as if it were connected directly to the PBX.

A PC-based PBX incorporating preexisting call control software designed to operate in a computing environment which is not PC-based. The PC-based PBX comprises a PC chassis; a PC motherboard within the chassis; a main PBX control card within the chassis for executing the preexisting call control software; a telecommunications card within the chassis and connected to the PBX main control card for implementing telephony communications with a public switched telephone network under control of the call control software; and a DSP card within the chassis and connected to the PBX main control card for implementing signaling and conferencing functions under control of the call control software.
