The handle body includes a handle body material. The elevated feature include an elevated feature material, wherein the elevated feature material has a kinetic coefficient of friction of greater than or equal to 0.55 and a hardness of less than or equal to Shore A 70, and a hardness that is less than the hardness of the handle body material.

Process comprises providing at least one elongated stem having a proximal end and a distal end, providing the at least one bristled component, and attaching the at least one bristled component to the at least first stem.

Processes for manufacturing personal-care applicator

A skin smoothing film made from a skin smoothing composition that comprises sodium silicate, polyvalent silicate and water. Moreover, the film may be made from a composition that has a contraction value of from about 30% to about 160%. Process comprises providing a stem strip, wrapping a continuous yarn around a moving endless band, juxtaposing the continuous stem strip with the band's edge, ultrasonically welding the yarn portions adjacent to the band's edge to the stem strip at a predetermined density, removing the stem strip having the yarn ultrasonically welded thereto from the endless band, and cutting the stem strip into a plurality of applicator components.

A multi-functional, multi-compositional cosmetic applicator includes an application surface in liquid communication with a reservoir. The reservoir includes a first personal care composition and a second personal care composition stored therein, and the applicator is actuatable between a first and second functional configuration wherein the application surface of the applicator exhibits a first frictional force when in the first functional configuration and a second frictional force that is less than the first frictional force when in the second functional configuration. The applicator includes an actuatable delivery system that allows a user to selectively dispense the first and second compositions.

Cosmetic applicators

A fluid delivery system includes an applicator having gradient foam where the gradient foam includes a fluid and the applicator has an applicator surface area open to the environment such that the fluid is passively dispensed onto a surface independent of gravity through the applicator surface area. The gradient foam may be encompassed by a holder. A fluid reservoir in the applicator holder is used to replenish fluid. A cap covers the gradient foam to prevent the foam drying out. The types of surfaces that the fluid delivery system may be applied to can be hard or soft, such as wood or skin and hence, the fluid delivery system may be used for many applications in the home, health/medicine, beauty, feminine, baby, personal, fabric, pet and food areas.

An arrangement for a direct methanol fuel cell includes a fuel cartridge that supplies a source of fuel to the direct methanol fuel cell. The fuel cartridge has a surface area enhanced planar vaporization membrane residing in the fuel cartridge. The arrangement also includes a fuel reservoir that receives fuel from the fuel cartridge, the fuel reservoir arranged to deliver fuel to the fuel cell. The fuel reservoir also including a surface area enhanced planar vaporization membrane residing in the fuel reservoir. The combination of the surface area enhanced planar vaporization membranes residing in the fuel cartridge and reservoir provides a dual stage vaporization of fuel to the fuel cell. Other features included are passive or active arrangements to increase the temperature of the fuel or reduce pressure in the fuel container to enhance rate of vaporization.
