Methods, systems, and apparatuses are described here that identify meeting content. A meeting content determiner in a shared computing device identifies a group including two or more participants in a meeting, where at least one participant of the group is logged into an account associated with a meeting content determiner. Further, the meeting content determiner identifies content associated with the two or more participants, and accessible by the at least one participant logged into the account and displays indications of the identified content to one or more participants of the group.

Identification of meeting group and related content

A device identifies users who is trying to interact with it and monitors their state. Using this user state information, the device dynamically adjusts a user interface, speech grammars, screen flow, input options, and the like to tailor interaction with the device to the user. The user interface and device interaction may also be influenced by user-specific settings or profiles. The device may prevent or allow user interaction with the device based on the user's state, such as a position relative to the device. For example, the device may prevent or allow the user from using a set of speech or gesture commands or other interaction sets based on the user's position or relative location.

Interaction with devices based on user state

The invention describes a non-real time fax transmission and reception system, in which fax emulation or &ldquo;spoofer&rdquo; software resides between application software and a fax/modem device. The fax/modem device may be comprised of hardware or software in any proportion. The fax spoofer software uses a fax/modem emulator to interface between requesting application software to have the application software believe that it is communicating with an actual, as opposed to virtual, fax/modem device. The emulator creates a class 1 or class 2 fax/modem session of the transmission request, which may be transmitted to a fax/modem device at a later point in time. Additionally, the fax spoofer software may be used to buffer, queue, or process incoming facsimiles, which can either be stored in the local memory of a fax/modem device or in the memory portion of the fax spoofer software. The incoming facsimile session is recorded in a buffer, and routed to the emulation software that processes the incoming fax/modem session into fax data deliverable to a destination application. Accordingly, incoming faxes need not interrupt the operation of the computing system. Additionally, temporary unavailability of system resources will not result in a termination of the facsimile session or failure of the transmission. The fax spoofer software may be located across several different computers in a networked environment. In a network environment, a fax/modem hub may be created to route incoming or outgoing facsimiles to different client computing systems. Storage or processing of the fax/modem sessions may take place either at the hub level or at the client level.

Disclosed is a system of transmitting data from a sending computer (10) to a receiving computer (30) in an 8-bit parallel format. Each computer includes a parallel communications port (14 and 34) having a data output register (24 and 44), a status register (26 and 46) and a control register (28 and 48). The method includes the steps of connecting the computers, configuring the receiving computer and writing the data to be transmitted at the sending computer. The method further includes the step of determining whether the receiving computer has the ability to receive 8-bit parallel communication. A cable for providing a communication link between the two computers is also disclosed.

A method and apparatus for transmitting data between computers. By determining an optimum time for which a sending computer (10) must set a strobe pulse on a strobe line (54) in order for a receiving computer (30) to be able to read data transmitted, the sending computer can transmit data without the need to poll an acknowledge line (56). The optimum strobe pulse duration is determined by sending a copy of a known pattern of data from the sending computer to the receiving computer using different strobe pulse durations. The receiving computer examines the received pattern of data to determine if an error occurred during transmission. If an error occurred, the sending computer sets the acknowledge line. The optimum hold time is determined to be the shortest hold time for which the sending computer can set the strobe line and the receiving computer can receive the known pattern of data without error.
