A variety of processes for certifying the reporting of advertising impressions provided via video games are described. These certification processes optionally take advantage of automated techniques for verifying that when advertising data is provided a corresponding advertisement is provided within the video game. In addition, as software patches are often provided for video games, a recommended process for certifying patched software is also described. Reporting data associated with advertising impressions provided from uncertified video games is considered suspect and optionally discarded.

Method and system supporting audited reporting of advertising impressions from video games

In a video game session supporting a set of gamers participating in the game from a variety of different locations, an opportunity to provide an advertisement is presented. The content of the advertisement is chosen based upon specific criteria such as data relating to one of the gamers, for example, the location of the gamer. The chosen content of the advertisement is provided within an advertising spot of the video game.

Online video game advertising system and method supporting multiplayer ads

A method is disclosed for determining a location of a mobile electronic device. The mobile electronic device receives an RF signal providing RF fingerprint data and receives a third party location estimate from a third party service. Location data is collected by a dead reckoning system and corresponds to RF fingerprint data and third party estimates collected for a plurality of locations. A correlation between the RF fingerprint data, the third party location estimates, and location data is determined providing a transform for transforming the third party location estimates into a more accurate location estimate of the mobile electronic device.

Method and system for indoor RF mapping

A method is disclosed where an e-book lending library is provided. The lending library includes data relating a plurality of e-books. A first e-book from the plurality of e-books is loaned to a user for a predetermined finite period of time, which comprises transmitting to an electronic device associated with the user, via a communications network, the first e-book including a lending license therefore. Upon expiration of the predetermined finite period of time, data is received from the electronic device relating to the user's reading history of the first e-book. The user's reading progress through the first e-book is determined automatically based on the data. When it is determined that the user has other than finished reading the first e-book, a signal is transmitted to the electronic device via the communication network, the signal comprising an offer to sell to the user the first e-book via the e-book lending library.

Method and system for upselling to a user of a digital book lending library

In order to enhance visual representation of an advertisement within a video game optical characteristics of the advertisement are specified. Specifically, downloaded data corresponding to an advertisement is used to provide an advertising image within a virtual environment of a video game. The advertising image is displayed having a portion that appears to be at least one of transmissive and reflective. In this way, advertisements are displayed in a fashion consistent with the appearance of a corresponding advertisement in the real world.

Method and system for displaying of transparent ads

A method and system for providing multiple ophthalmic and retinal blood measurements is outlined. By extracting multiple digitized wavelength images and quantitative data within a relatively short time period the method allows for compensation of a patient's eye or head movement, generation of ophthalmic clinical records, and determination of data relating to blood measurements, such as oxygen saturation and hemoglobin, in addition to ocular and other disease determinations. The method provides for multiple analysis and measurements within a single sitting of the patient, with a single simple instrument and without adaptations to the instrument during a patient's eye examination. Beneficially the approach allows for low cost, compact, and even portable implementations offering such analysis and determination outside the current ophthalmic centers providing eased access and earlier diagnosis opportunities.

Method and apparatus for correlated ophthalmic measurements

A method is disclosed where an e-book lending library is provided. The lending library includes data relating to one of license data relating to a plurality of e-books and a plurality of e-books. A request to borrow a first e-book of the plurality of e-books for a predetermined finite period of time is received at the e-book lending library. A current lending status of the first e-book is determined as one of available for lending and unavailable for lending. When it is determined that the first e-book is unavailable for lending, a second signal is transmitted to the user via the communication network, the second signal comprising an offer to sell to the user the first e-book via the e-book lending library.

A method is provided in which time slicing data, including an indication of available time blocks for loaning an e-book from an e-book lending library, are provided to a user in response to the user requesting to borrow an e-book that is not currently available for being loaned. When the user selects an available time block via an electronic device, the e-book lending library provides to an electronic device that is associated with the user, via the communications network, a lending license for the e-book that is valid only during the selected available time block. The e-book lending library enables access to the first e-book via the electronic device, during the selected time block, using the provided lending license.

Time-slicing method and system for digital books

A method of searching is performed by providing a term for use in searching of information. The term is useful in determining documents relating to the term. In response to the provided term, search results within a search result set are determined. The search results include an indication of some of the documents relating to the term. The search result set defines a resulting search space. A further term is provided for reducing the search result set or expanding thereof. The further term is provided based on the term, terms relating to documents within the search space, and the resulting search space.

Method of document searching

A speech-to-text-to-speech for use with on-line and real time transmission of speech with a small bandwidth from a source to a destination. A speech is received and broken down to phonemes, which are encoded into series of symbols compatible with communication systems and other than a known symbolic representation of the speech in a known language for being transmitted through communication networks. When received, the series of symbols is decoded to restore the phonemes and for reconstituting a speech according to the phonemes prior to being communicated to a listening party.

Phonetic speech-to-text-to-speech system and method

A method and system for generating random numbers is disclosed wherein an array of imaging sensors while not in normal use, captures ambient light and back scattered light. These light sources vary naturally over a range of intensities. Intensity values above and below a threshold value are decoded as &ldquo;1&rdquo; and &ldquo;0&rdquo; bits, respectively. The resulting values, based on noise within the array signal, are single bit values or n bit values. A preferred imaging sensor array is a charge coupled device. Other imaging sensor arrays such as capacitive fingerprint imagers may also be used for this purpose when sufficient noise exists within the imaging sensor array signal.

Random number generator and method for same

A method of registering biometric data is disclosed wherein a registration profile is formed of those templates that have a likelihood of registering with the biometric data that is within predetermined limits. The profile is then compared against one or more other profiles to determine an individual most likely to have said profile. That individual is then identified. Optionally, the profile comparison is used in conjunction with a individual registration values formed by comparison between the biometric data and stored templates.

Biometric security encryption system

An air distribution system for conditioning air and selectably forcing the air into a passenger compartment or a trunk compartment of a vehicle is provided. The air may be pre-cooled or pre-heated before being forced by a ventilator to particular vents. This is particularly useful on a warm day when the top is down on a convertible. By cooling the trunk, specifically, groceries or perishables can be kept relatively cool.
