An x-ray source can include a housing with material with an atomic number of &#x2265;42 and a thermal conductivity of &#x2265;3 W/(m*K) to assist in removing heat from the x-ray source and to block x-rays emitted in undesirable directions. An x-ray source can include a shell that is electrically conductive and that encloses at least part of a voltage multiplier without enclosing a control circuit to minimize or eliminate electromagnetic interference in the control circuitry caused by the voltage multiplier. An x-ray source can include a negative voltage multiplier, a positive voltage multiplier, and a ground plane between the negative voltage multiplier and the positive voltage multiplier. The ground plane can minimize or eliminate electromagnetic interference between the negative voltage multiplier and the positive voltage multiplier. An air-filled channel, associated with the ground plane, can reduce weight of the x-ray source.

Method and system for adapting a telephone line modem for use on the power line

A wireless power line carrier data communication device is provided. The device is specifically adapted to meet the requirements of high-speed modem data transmission, such as is typically required by digital computer networks and similar devices. The device employs an improved power line transmitter power output which reduces the effect of harmonic distortion and also employs a bit-stream sine wave generator with a digital to analog converter to producing a sine wave for the sub-audio carrier signal, which also reduces the effects of harmonic distortion. The device is specifically designed for data transfer over the AC power lines and is compatible with standard AC power signals as well as standard modem equipment and standard telephone connections.

A wireless power line carrier voice and data communication device is provided. The device permits a user to connect one or more electronic devices to surge suppress and isolated AC power connections while simultaneously providing a communication channel between telephone equipment, such as telephone extensions, modems and/or facsimile machines, across the AC power lines to a remote telephone connection. This invention prevents the degradation of the voice and/or data signal across the power lines that would otherwise be induced by the AC connected electronic equipment. A program routine vectoring system for use in a data processing system has a central processing unit and input circuitry for receiving interrupt information. The system includes read only memory for storing address information and instructions to be executed by the central processing unit, a signalling circuit for signalling the central processing unit when the input circuitry receives an interrupt request, to cause the central processing unit to retrieve initial address information from the read only memory, a decoder for decoding the retrieved address information supplied by the central processing unit and for producing a first signal if certain address information is supplied, and a second signal if other address information is supplied, and a multiplexer responsive to the first signal for supplying to the read only memory first instruction address information to cause the read only memory to supply to the central processing unit a first address in the read only memory containing instructions for processing the interrupt request, and responsive to the second signal for supplying to the read only memory second instruction address information to cause the read only memory to supply to the central processing unit a second address in the read only memory containing other instructions for processing the interrupt request.
