The invention facilitates the compilation of client-imposed charge or credit limit reports based on declined purchase and/or payment transactions. The invention provides a system and method by which an account manager for a financial institution and/or a client program administrator company may perform analysis of spending patterns for cardmembers in order to determine an optimal client-imposed credit limit in order to reduce the occurrences of declined charge or credit transactions. An account manager for a financial institution and/or a client program administrator may use the limits report to persuade a cardmember to increase the client-imposed credit limit to a recommended level, thereby reducing the cardmember's inconvenience cased by declined purchase transactions while recapturing lost revenues by the card issuer also resulting from declined purchase transactions.

System and method for calculating recommended charge limits

The invention facilitates the computation of expected approval rates based on historic transaction data relating to transaction classes, approved transactions and declined transactions. The invention provides a system and method by which a program administrator for a company may model varying client-imposed limit scenarios in order to determine one or more optimal monthly and/or transactional spending limits. Further, the present invention provides a means for setting varying monthly and/or transaction spending limits for purchases from any number of industries. Providing card members with information regarding optimal spending limits reduces the occurrences of declined credit transactions. A program administrator may also utilize the present invention to provide any number of limit scenarios in order to persuade a card member to increase their client-imposed credit limit to an optimal level thereby reducing the card member's inconvenience caused by declined purchase transactions while recapturing lost revenues by the card issuer.

System and method for calculating expected approval rates

A method and system for imaging a small object in or behind a highly scattering medium comprises a laser source for illuminating the object with an ultrashort collimated beam of light and a novel microscope for forming a magnified image of the object using light emergent from the highly scattering medium, the emergent light consisting of a scattered component and a non-scattered component. The novel microscope comprises an objective, an eyepiece and an aperture centered at the back focal plane of the objective. The aperture, which may be of a fixed or variable size and controlled electronically or by a computer serves to spatially filter the scattered light component of the light emergent from the highly scattering medium. The system may also comprise a streak camera or similar time resolving device positioned at the image plane of the microscope for temporally filtering the scattered light component of the light emergent from the highly scattering medium.

A combination and method for centralized distribution of laser carrier beams to collocated wavelength division multiplexing systems divide and couple the optical carrier beam from high power laser sources to each of more than one collocated system. The carrier beam is then modulated by modulators in transponders residing in each wavelength division multiplexing system. Each modulated signal is then combined by a wavelength division multiplexer for transmittal onto an output fiber.
