A customer attempts to deposit a check and receives an unacceptable decision. An automated decision process is initiated to evaluate the unacceptable decision based on governmental regulations, transaction details, customer profile information, and/or bank business rules. A new decision is automatically provided to the customer based on the automated decision process's decision.

Automated check deposit decisions

A method of using exception information for binary code. The method comprises: receiving exception information relating to an exception occurring during execution of binary code, the exception information including a code reference identifying a function executing while the exception occurred, and a line number for that function. The method also comprises: accessing intermediate code using the code reference and the line number to obtain intermediate code fragments; converting the intermediate code fragments to a source code approximation; and providing the source code approximation and function name to a log for subsequent analysis.

Using exception information

Methods and a system for automated onsite customer assistance are provided. A customer operating a Self-Service Terminal (SST) onsite of an enterprise establishes a communication session with a host system. Information passed between the SST and the host system is relayed to a device operated by a clerk that is also onsite. A real-time determination is made as to whether the customer is in need of assistance of the clerk during the communication session.

Onsite automated customer assistance

A filter driver arranged to be executed on a processor of a terminal. The filter driver, when executed, is arranged to (i) receive a request for a first resource relating to a device installed in the terminal; (ii) determine if the requested first resource is appropriate for the device; and (iii) provide a second resource if the first resource is inappropriate for the device.

Correlation of resources

A method of generating a heartbeat signal for an application comprising one or more objects that may enter a halt state is described. The method comprises: sending a status request to a defined interface on each object; and monitoring responses to the status requests to ascertain if each object is operating normally or in a halt state. The method further comprises: generating an application valid signal in the event that each object is operating normally; transmitting the application valid signal, if generated, to a monitoring component independent of the application; and generating at the monitoring component a heartbeat valid signal in response to receipt of the application valid signal.
