Corrosion of metals in a corrosive atmosphere is reduced by use of a corrosion inhibitor prepared from (1) amino substituted pyrazine compounds such as aminopyrazine and (2) at least one epoxy compound such as the glycidyl ether of a mixture of alkanols having from 12 to 14 carbon atoms.

Epoxy resins having low melt viscosities and high softening points are prepared by partially reacting the epoxy resin with a monoimide. These modified epoxy resins are useful as binders in preparing high flow-out, non-sintering powder paints, particularly in epoxy resin/polyester hybrid coatings.

Gas turbine compressors are cleaned during power generation (on line) by periodically injecting or spraying into the air inlet, a cleaning composition comprising 4-95 percent by weight of a glycol ether such as ethylene glycol butyl ether, or a mixture of glycol ethers such as propylene glycol methyl ether and dipropylene glycol methyl ether, 0.1 to 14 percent by weight of a nonionic surfactant, 0.01 to 6 percent by weight of a cationic surfactant and 0 to 95 percent by weight of water.

Solid epoxy resins having low melt viscosity and high softening points are prepared by partially reacting the aliphatic secondary hydroxyl groups with a monoisocyanate to form pendant urethane groups. These resins are particularly useful as binders in preparing high flow-out, non-sintering powder paints.

The compound has the general formula: ##STR1## wherein R is hydrogen, hydrocarbyl, halogen, epoxy, hydroxy, alkoxy, mercapto, alkylthio, nitro, cyano or amino; R' is hydrogen or hydrocarbyl; X is halogen; m is an integer from 1 to 4; and n is 0, 1 or 2. The compound may also be a tautomer or acid addition salt of this formula.
