A trim panel connecting link for one of the vehicle pillars, such as an A-pillar includes electrical conductors with a plug or socket at each opposite end thereof which connect with a mating socket or plug in the headliner and instrument panel for interconnecting the vehicle electrical system with the headliner electrical components. In a preferred embodiment an A-pillar display is mounted to the trim panel. In another embodiment the display is coupled to the conductors of the connecting link.

A universal visor core and cover structure allows the core to be employed to accommodate any number of options. The core has pre-formed apertures for receiving a vanity mirror or illuminated vanity mirror package and cover mounting brackets. The core is upholstered to cover such apertures which are unnoticeable when the visor is a blank visor. The cover mounting bracket integrally include camming surfaces which cooperatively engage an edge of the cover for camming the cover in a snap-open or snap-closed position urging the cover into these positions for use or storage of the vanity mirror protected by such cover.

Multiple function visor

An integral headliner and visor include a headliner body and integrally formed single or multiple panels, which are hinged to the body to define one or more visor shapes. Upholstery material covering the outer surface of the body and panels, form a flexible hinge for the visor to headliner junction. In some embodiments, the panels are separate from the headliner body. In other embodiments an over-center hinge is also employed to couple the panels to the headliner body.

A visor control includes a first member positioned in the body of the visor and engaging one side of a pivot rod also extending within the visor body for moving the visor between stored and use positions. An elastically deformable plate has one end secured to the first member and engages an opposite side of the pivot rod in an elastically deformed position. The rod includes a flat formed in the opposite side for engagement by the deformable plate to provide a torque for returning the visor to a predetermined position and for releasably holding the visor in such position. In one embodiment of the invention, the first member is also an elastically deformable plate which engages flats formed in the one side of the pivot rod. In yet another embodiment of the invention, collar shaped cam members surround the pivot rod and a compression spring urges the cam members together, one of which is anchored to the pivot rod and the other of which is rotationally anchored to the visor body but is free to slide on the visor rod. Each of the cam members includes interengaging inclined surfaces for urging the visor under the spring compression into a predetermined position and releasably hold the visor in such position.

Visor control

A hook for use on a vehicle is pivotally and retractably mounted to a housing integrally including bias means engaging a portion of the hook for releasably holding the hook in a retracted position presenting a flush surface when the hook is not in use. The hook pivots to an open position extending from the housing for use.

An illuminated covered visor mirror for mounting within a vehicle's visor includes a mirror frame having a pair of spaced resilient sockets for receiving hinge pins extending from a cover for hinging the cover to the mirror frame. The sockets and hinge pins include cooperating camming means to provide snap-action closing of the cover holding the cover in the closed position over the mirror when not in use and similarly in an open position for exposing the mirror for use.
