Methods and devices for detecting electrical arcs are provided. A first wavelet transformation with a first mother wavelet is applied to a chronological sequence of current measurements () of a current through a lead, to obtain first wavelet coefficients. In addition, a second wavelet transformation with a second mother wavelet different from the first mother wavelet is applied to the chronological sequence in order to obtain second wavelet coefficients. On the basis of the first wavelet coefficients and the second wavelet coefficients, it is then determined whether an arc () is present.

Methods and devices for detecting an electrical arc

A current sensor and a current sensing method are disclosed. The current sensor includes a sensor chip having a first chip surface, a second chip surface and at least one sensor element, and a housing having a first housing surface adjoining the second chip surface and a second housing surface spaced apart from the first housing surface and separated from the first housing surface by a spacer section of the housing. The second housing surface is configured to be mounted on a conductor and is electrically insulating.

Magnetic current sensor

Techniques for monitoring an internal pressure of a battery cell, whereby a membrane that is part of an outer shell of the battery cell is used as an element of capacitive-based or inductive-based sensor circuitry in order to measure a change of capacitance or inductance under deformation of the membrane from the internal pressure of the battery cell. The change of capacitance or inductance may in turn be used to derive a value for the internal pressure of the battery cell.

Magnetoresistive sensors are used to measure a load current of a switch. In some implementations, additionally a further current sensor may be used. In other implementations, more than one magnetoresistive sensor may be provided.

Measurements in switch devices

An intermediate servant device connected in a daisy chain configuration with a set of devices is described. The intermediate servant device may be configured to receive, from a previous servant device of the set of servant devices, a request for data, a first response to the request for data, and authentication information for the first response to the request for data. The intermediate servant device may be further configured to generate a second response to the request for data and determine authentication information for the second response based on the authentication information for the first response, the second response, and a key assigned to the intermediate servant device. The intermediate servant device may be further configured to output at least the authentication information for the second response, the first response, and the second response.

Secured daisy chain communication

A chip package, a chip package system, a method of manufacturing a chip package, and a method of operating a chip package including: a first sensor configured to measure a magnetic field component up to a maximum magnetic field value; a second sensor configured to measure the magnetic field component beyond the maximum magnetic field value; and a circuit coupled to the first sensor and the second sensor and configured to receive at least one sensor signal from at least one of the first sensor and the second sensor, wherein the circuit is further configured to select the first sensor or the second sensor to measure the magnetic field component based on the received sensor signal.

Chip package, a chip package system, a method of manufacturing a chip package, and a method of operating a chip package

A device is provided that includes a switch within a package. A first electrical connection is provided between a load terminal of the switch and first pin of the package, and a second electrical connection at least partially different from the first electrical connection is provided between the switch and a second pin of the package. The second pin is different from the first pin.

Switch device

A system includes a battery and a plurality of integrated circuits. The battery includes a plurality of battery cells. Each integrated circuit of the plurality of integrated circuits is coupled to a respective battery cell of the plurality of battery cells. Each integrated circuit includes at least one sensor configured to determine one or more operational characteristics of the battery cell coupled to the integrated circuit, and a transceiver configured to output a signal indicative of the one or more operational characteristics of the battery cell.

Communication between battery cells

According to an example, a device is suggested, said device comprising a switching element, an integrated sensor providing a signal and an electronic fuse that is arranged to determine a fuse condition based on the signal and based on at least one fuse characteristic and to trigger a fuse event in case the fuse condition is met.
