An apparatus has a first communication module that is compatible with a first wireless communication technology, and a second communication module that is compatible with a second, different, wireless communication technology. Transmissions by each communication module may contribute to interference at the other communication module. In one example, a Block Acknowledgement Request is transmitted by the apparatus during a downlink period of the second communication module so that the Block Acknowledgement transmitted in response is received during the downlink period. In another example, the apparatus calculates a maximum size of A-MPDU to receive and notifies an access point of that maximum size. In a further example, the apparatus, having notified an access point of operation in a power save mode, polls the access point for buffered frames at the start of a downlink period of the second communication module.

Mitigating interference between co-located wireless technologies

In some implementations, a method in a user equipment (UE) for dynamically managing band capacity includes communicating with a first radio access network (RAN) on a first Radio Frequency (RF) channel and a second RAN on a second RF channel, where the first RAN and the second RAN are different networks. The UE receives an indication from the first RAN (or makes a determination) to handover to a third RF channel. The UE determines that the third RF channel conflicts with the second RF channel. The UE disables an RF band including the second RF channel with the second RAN and reports updated RF Band Capabilities to one or both RANs.

Dynamically managing band capability

An electronic device monitors a quality of a wireless connection between the electronic device and a first access point. Based on the monitoring and a collection of parameters relating to controlling handover between access points, a determination is made regarding whether the electronic device should be handed over to a second access point from the first access point, where the parameters differ for different combinations of the first access point and candidate destination access points for handover of the electronic device from the first access point.

Mitigating interference with wireless communications

A radio telephone for use in wireless telecommunication has a transmitter/receiver unit (4), a control unit (5), a first antenna (1), the properties of which are optimized for use in stand-by mode, and a second antenna (2), the properties of which are optimized for use during ongoing calls, said second antenna being electrically engageable and disengageable with the transmitter/receiver unit. The radio telephone further has an antenna switch (3), which is arranged to operatively connect the transmitter/receiver unit (4) to either the first antenna (1) or the second antenna (2), said antenna switch supplying the control unit (5) with control signals (7) in response to at least the electrical engagement status of the second antenna. The control unit prevents ingoing as well as outgoing calls from being established, as long as the second antenna according to said control signals is indicated to be electrically disengaged.
