A quadrupole mass analyzer according to the present invention optimizes a stability band formation mode of a quadrupole system, so as to facilitate passing of ions and blocking of excessive ions, thereby improving the mass resolution without reducing the ion transmission efficiency. The solution of the present invention avoids the superimposition of high-frequency AC signals needed in the ion two-direction resonance frequency control in the prior art, and can effectively reduce the risk of quadrupole working performance reduction caused by the non-linear distortion of an RF voltage caused by bandwidth limitation in a fast RF circuit. In addition, a scanning speed of an ion-controlled electric field required by the quadrupole mass spectrometry can also be controlled faster because of reduction of limit bandwidth of various needed AC excitation signals. It is advantageous to obtain high-speed quadrupole scanning mass spectrometry performance.

Quadrupole mass analyzer and method of mass analysis

An ion optical device includes one or more pairs of confinement electrode units arranged at two sides of a first direction; a power supply device for applying opposite radio-frequency voltages to the paired confinement electrode units respectively and forming thereon DC potentials distributed in a second direction orthogonal to the first direction to form a potential barrier herein over a length portion of the first direction; one first area and one second area positioned at two sides of the potential barrier in the second direction; and a control device connected with the power supply device for controlling an output thereof to change the potential barrier to manipulate the ions transported/stored in the first area being transferred to the second area through the potential barrier in ways based on the mass to charge ratio or mobility of the ions and continue being transported along the first direction.

Ion optical device with orthogonal ion barriers

The disclosure relates to a mass spectrometer and a method applied thereby for reducing ion loss and succeeding stage vacuum load. The mass spectrometer includes an ion source connected via vacuum interfaces, a vacuum chamber and a succeeding stage device; wherein a tubular lens is arranged above a Mach disc formed by a gas flow carrying ions at the vacuum interfaces, so that an ion transfer path is restrained and the ions scattering with the gas flow is reduced. In comparison to a sole reliance on a radio-frequency voltage for focusing ions, the efficiency of ion capture in a jet region is improved by using an aerodynamic lens; and the desolvation efficiency of electrically charged droplets is also improved, thereby further improving the sensitivity of the mass spectrometer. Meanwhile the tubular aerodynamic lens is simple in structure and small in size.

Mass spectrometer and method applied thereby for reducing ion loss and succeeding stage vacuum load

A focusing ion guiding apparatus includes: at least one ion guiding inlet and ion guiding outlet connected to each other via a transport axial line; at least one group of focusing electrode structures comprising at least one smooth and non-concave focusing electrode or focusing electrode array to which a focusing voltage is applied, the focusing electrode structure causing the ions transported in the apparatus to be radially focused for many times under the action of a focusing electric field formed by the focusing electrode structure; and a neutral gas flow transported in the axial direction, a diffusion path of the gas flow in an at least partially radial direction relative to the axial direction being blocked by the focusing electrode or its bearing substrate to increase a transport velocity of the gas flow in the axial direction and reduce retention or turbulence of the transported ions.

Focusing ion guiding apparatus and mass spectrographic analysis apparatus

An ion trap analyzer, an ion trap mass spectrometry analysis method, and an ion fragmentation method are provided. The ion trap analyzer includes an ion trapping space enclosed by multiple electrodes (), where a high-frequency voltage is applied on at least a part of the electrodes, so as to generate, within the trapping space, a trapping electric field dominated by a quadratic field. The apparatus is provided with an ion ejection outlet () in at least one direction away from the center of the trap; an alternating voltage signal used for resonant excitation of ion motions is overlaid on an electrode part that is on a side of the ion ejection outlet and closest to the ejection outlet, while no voltage signal that is identical in range and phase with the alternating voltage is applied on at least one remaining electrode part in said direction. With the method, or by further applying, to the remaining electrode part in said direction, a voltage signal that is inverted to the alternating voltage, the orientation of an alternating electric field induced by the excitation alternating voltage signal can be limited, thereby improving the resonance ejection efficiency of the ion trap, reducing, in ion motions, motion coupling between an ejection direction and a non-ejection direction, and improving the viability of selecting the ion trap as a mass analyzer.

Ion trap analyzer and ion trap mass spectrometry analysis method

An ion mobility analyzer, combination device thereof, and ion mobility analysis method. The ion mobility analyzer comprises an electrode system that surrounds the analytical space and a power device that attaches to the electrode system an ion mobility electric potential field that moves along one space axis. During the process of analyzing mobility of ions to be measured, by always placing the ions to be measured in the moving ion mobility electric potential field, and keeping the movement direction of the ion mobility electric potential field consistent with the direction of the electric field on the ions to be measured within the ion mobility electric potential field, theoretically a mobility path of an infinite length can be formed so as to distinguish ions having mobility or ion cross sections that have very small differences.

A linear ion beam bonding apparatus and an array structure thereof, comprising a pair of primary radiofrequency electrodes (and) extending along the axial direction and oppositely arranged on two sides of the central axis of the linear ion beam bonding apparatus. Section patterns on different section planes of each of the primary radiofrequency electrodes (and) and perpendicular to the central axis are all kept symmetric via a primary symmetric plane () of the central axis. Radiofrequency voltages attached to the primary radiofrequency electrodes (and) are of identical phases. An ion extraction groove () is arranged on at least one of the primary radiofrequency electrodes (and), while at least one pair of auxiliary electrodes (and) are arranged on two sides of the pair of primary radiofrequency electrodes (and). The auxiliary electrodes (and) are arranged in duality to the primary symmetric plane (). At least one of the auxiliary electrodes (and) is provided with a finite number of symmetric planes (), while a minimal angle greater than 0 degrees and less than 90 degrees is provided between each symmetric plane () and the symmetric plane () of the primary radiofrequency electrodes (and). By means of this, a quadrupole field component of an ion beam bonding radiofrequency electric field within the ion beam bonding apparatus is strengthened.

Linear ion beam bonding apparatus and array structure thereof

The present invention provides a method for preparing an ion optical device. A substrate is fabricated with a hard material adapted for a grinding process, the substrate at least including a planar surface, and including at least one insulating material layer. Next, one or more linear grooves are cut on the planar surface, to form multiple discrete ion optical electrode regions on the planar surface separated by the linear grooves. Then, conductive leads are fabricated on other substrate surfaces than the planar surface and in a through hole inside the substrate, to provide voltages required on ion optical electrodes. By using high-hardness materials in cooperation with high-precision machining, higher precision and a desired discrete electrode contour can be obtained.

Method for manufacturing ion optical device

A tandem mass spectrometer is provided in the present invention. The mass spectrometer includes an ion source, a quadrupole mass filter located at downstream side of the ion source, a linear ion trap disposed at downstream side of the mass filter and an ion detector placed on the side of the ion trap, all of which are placed in a vacuum environment. The instrument can obtain MS meeting the standard spectral library search criteria by the quadrupole mass filter cooperating with linear ion trap, realize any multi-stage MS under two modes of axial collision and resonance excitation, and predict and optimize the inflow amount and types of samples under the ion trap analysis mode by the quadrupole. A tandem MS analysis method is also provided, which can repeatedly provide precursor ion selection, ion acceleration, achieve high-energy collision dissociation, low product ion mass discrimination effect.

Tandem mass spectrum analysis device and mass spectrum analysis method

The present invention relates generally to the field of ion storage and analysis, in particular to a linear ion trap mass analyzer comprised by multiple columnar electrodes. High frequency voltages are applied on at least one of the columnar electrodes to form ion confining space, which mainly consists of two-dimensional quadrupole electric radial trapping field, and there is at least one through slot for ion ejection in at least one direction perpendicular to the axis of the ion trap, wherein an AC electric field superposition is applied to invoke dipole excitation. Opposite to the through slot, there is an elongated electrode for field adjusting between two columnar electrodes or inside the slit of one of the columnar electrodes mentioned above. The potential on the elongated electrode for field adjusting is set as the sum of a portion of the high frequency voltage which applied on one adjacent columnar electrode and a DC offset, which can be adjusted freely. Through adjusting the portion of the high frequency potential and DC potential on this electrode, one or more objectives, including field optimization inside the ion trap as well as ion motion characteristics of resonant ejection, can be realized.

Linear ion trap analyzer

This invention presents a kind of ion guide device comprising multiple layers of stretched wire electrodes crossing in space. These wire electrodes are distributed along a defined ion guiding axis in the ion guide device. Each layer of wire electrodes contains at least two wire electrodes with some distance away from the guiding axis, and rotates with an angle relative to wire electrodes on neighboring layer. The ion guide contains multiple layers of wire electrodes to form a cage-like ion guide tunnel and keeps the mounting framework of those wire electrodes outside of the ion guide tunnel, thus reducing the interference of the gas flows from the ion guide device. A power supply provides voltage to each layer of wire electrodes, creates an electric field which focuses the ions towards the guiding axis.
