The present disclosure generally relates to the utilization of context information by an electronic device. In one example, the electronic device receives a first notification of a first type and determines a current status for one or more contextual categories. If the current status for the one or more contextual categories satisfies a set of one or more delivery criteria for notifications of the first type, then the electronic device provides the first notification of the first type. If the current status for the one or more contextual categories does not satisfy the set of one or more delivery criteria for notifications of the first type, then the electronic device modifies the first notification of the first type to a second notification of a second type and provides the second notification of the second type.

Utilizing context information with an electronic device

The present disclosure generally relates to interacting with an electronic device without touching a display screen or other physical input mechanisms. In some examples, the electronic device performs an operation in response to a positioning of a user's hand and/or an orientation of the electronic device.

Interacting with an electronic device through physical movement

In an exemplary technique, audio information responsive to received input is provided. While providing the audio information, one or more conditions for stopping the provision of audio information are detected, and in response, the provision of the audio information is stopped. After stopping the provision of the audio information, if the one or more conditions for stopping the provision of audio information have ceased, then resumed audio information is provided, where the resumed audio information includes a rephrased version of a previously provided segment of the audio information.

Providing audio information with a digital assistant

The present disclosure generally relates to the utilization of context information by an electronic device. In one example, a context affordance associated with a contextual category is displayed. In response to detecting an input, a plurality of options associated with the contextual category are displayed, including a first option corresponding to a first status that is a current status for the contextual category and a second option corresponding to a second status that is not the current status for the contextual category. When an input is detected that corresponds to the second option of the first plurality of options, the current status for the contextual category is set to the second status.

In an exemplary technique, speech input including one or more instructions is received. After the speech input has stopped, if it is determined that one or more visual characteristics indicate that further speech input is not expected, a response to the one or more instructions is provided. If it is determined that one or more visual characteristics indicate that further speech input is expected, a response to the one or more instructions is not provided.

The present disclosure generally relates to propagating context information from a first electronic device to a second electronic device. In one example, in response to detecting the second electronic device satisfies a distance criterion with respect to the first electronic device, the first electronic device determines whether propagation of the context to the second electronic device is permitted. If propagation of the context to the second electronic device is permitted and while the second electronic device satisfies the distance criterion with respect to the first electronic device, the context is transmitted to the second electronic device.

In one implementation, a method of providing contextual computer-generated reality (CGR) digital assistant is performed at a device provided to deliver a CGR scene, the device including one or more processors, non-transitory memory, and one or more displays. The method includes obtaining image data characterizing a field of view captured by an image sensor. The method further includes identifying in the image data a contextual trigger for one of a plurality of contextual CGR digital assistants. The method additionally includes selecting a visual representation of the one of the plurality of contextual CGR digital assistants, where the visual representation is selected based on context and in response to identifying the contextual trigger. The method also includes presenting the CGR scene by displaying the visual representation of the one of the plurality of contextual CGR digital assistants, where the visual representation provides information associated with the contextual trigger.

In an exemplary technique for providing audio information, an input is received, and audio information responsive to the received input is provided using a speaker. While providing the audio information, an external sound is detected. If it is determined that the external sound is a communication of a first type, then the provision of the audio information is stopped. If it is determined that the external sound is a communication of a second type, then the provision of the audio information continues.

The embodiments set forth a technique for enabling a computing device to securely communicate with a peripheral computing device. According to some embodiments, the method can include the steps of (1) receiving, at a detection sensor of the computing device, a light signal from the peripheral computing device, wherein the light signal is received at a first frequency that is higher than a second frequency capable of being detected by a camera system of the computing device, (2) extracting information from the light signal, and (3) performing an operation using the information.
