A secure workspace display manager can be configured to detect displays available on a user computing device and, in conjunction with a host agent, identify applications that are running inside secure workspaces deployed on the user computing device. The secure workspace display manager can use characteristics of the available displays and an application type of the applications running in the secure workspaces to create application-to-display mappings that will maximize the user experience in the multi-display environment. The secure workspace display manager can then move windows of the applications in accordance with the application-to-display mappings.

To manage a data processing of the data processing systems, the data processing system may be placed in a first operating state. To do so, first log in credentials may be obtained from a first user and may be used to obtain a first user persona from a server. The first user persona may be obtained via an out of band communication channel and may include a first set of configurations for the data processing system. The first set of the configurations may indicate preferences for operation of the data processing system associated with the first user. At least a portion of the first set of the configurations may be implemented by hardware resources of the data processing system and, therefore, computer-implemented services may be more likely to be provided as desired by the first user.

Managing user personas using a management controller

Methods and systems for managing a data processing system are disclosed. The data processing system may provide computer-implemented services and may include in-band hardware resources that operate as specified by operation data of the data processing system while providing the services. However, if the operation data becomes unavailable to the data processing system, then the data processing system may be unable to provide the desired services. Therefore, to increase the likelihood of providing the desired services, the operation data may be managed using distributed backup and recovery processes. To decrease security risk associated with operation data backup and recovery, the distributed processes may be performed using out-of-band components of the data processing system, bypassing in-band hardware components that may be more vulnerable to being compromised (e.g., by a malicious party). The out-of-band management of the operation data may reduce the likelihood of interruptions in providing the desired services.

A priority filter can be loaded above an isolation filter and can be configured to evaluate I/O requests targeting copy-on-write layers to determine a priority of each I/O request. The priority filter can allow a high priority I/O request to be serviced immediately. In contrast, the priority filter can store a lower priority I/O request in a queue until high priority I/O requests have been serviced. In this way, an application in a secure workspace assigned a high priority will retain the ability to write data to its copy-on-write layer even when the copy-on-write layer is limited by a quota and other applications in the same or different secure workspace are consuming the quota.

Systems and methods for providing intelligent workspace connection assistance are described. In an embodiment, an Information Handling System (IHS) may include a processor and a memory coupled to the processor, the memory having program instructions stored thereon that, upon execution, cause the IHS to: enumerate a plurality of peripheral devices coupled to a plurality of ports of the IHS; identify a Key Performance Indicator (KPI) for each of the plurality of peripheral devices; weigh each of the KPIs by a corresponding value scaler; and calculate a connection recommendation for the plurality of peripheral devices based, at least in part, upon the weighed KPIs.

Intelligent workspace connection assistance

When a containerized application for which experience management services are being performed is to be migrated to a new secure workspace on a user computing device, a workspace orchestrator can interface with a migration agent on the user computing device to cause the migration agent to perform the migration. The workspace agent can also interface with a host agent on the user computing device to provide information about the new secure workspace to which the containerized application is being migrated. When the migration is performed, the host agent can notify an experience management agent on the user computing device and provide the information about the new workspace. The experience management agent can then use the information about the new secure workspace to apply policies or configurations to the new secure workspace to thereby cause the same experience management services to be provided to the containerized application in the new secure workspace.

Assuming that the BYOD device receives an allowed status, the conference room host device may then enable data communication, peripheral access, and a set of entitlements for the BYOD device.
