The disclosure relates to a hearing device, e.g., a hearing aid, wherein open-cell foam is compressed between a receiver and a second section, e.g., receiver chamber, of the hearing device, a method for providing such hearing device, and a method for identifying a desired property of such open-cell foam of such hearing device. The hearing device comprises a first section comprising the open-cell foam being compressed, such that the open-cell foam has at least a strain value of a first point of an elastic modulus-strain curve of the open-cell foam and at most the strain value of a third point of the elastic modulus-strain curve, and such that the receiver is connected to the second section via the first section.

Suspension of a receiver of a hearing device

The present disclosure relates to a hearing device having a microphone, where most of the microphone is shielded by an outer shielding of the hearing device. An inlet in the outer shielding allows sound from outside the hearing aid to travel to the microphone to be picked up by it. However, the combination of the microphone and the inlet results in the microphone becoming more sensitive at some audible frequencies. A damping filter positioned in connection with the inlet acts to counter the acoustic effect of the inlet by damping sound in the audible frequency range, where the microphone has increased sensitivity.

A microphone assembly includes: a microphone with a first acoustic port, wherein the microphone is configured to convert acoustic waves into an electric signal; a filter housing with a second acoustic port; and a carrier coupled to the microphone and to the filter housing, wherein the carrier and the filter housing together enclose a cavity with a first acoustic passage fluidly connecting the first acoustic port and the second acoustic port; wherein the cavity comprises an acoustic chamber and a second acoustic passage; and wherein the second acoustic passage is in fluid communication with the first acoustic passage and with the acoustic chamber, and wherein the acoustic chamber and the second acoustic passage together establish a Helmholtz resonator for suppressing acoustic energy within a first frequency band in the acoustic waves propagating through the first acoustic passage, wherein the first frequency band is in an ultrasound frequency domain.

Microphone assembly with acoustic filter

A hearing aid includes a receiver with a receiver housing, the receiver having a sound port opening, and being configured to be placed at least partly in an ear canal of a user, and a sound tube acoustically connected to the sound port opening of the receiver, the sound tube having a longitudinal extension in at least two directions, wherein the sound tube has a total length of at least 16 mm. A hearing aid includes a behind the ear (BTE) unit configured to process sound and generate an electrical signal, an earpiece, and a signal conductor configured to communicate the electrical signal to the earpiece, wherein the earpiece comprises a receiver that is configured to convert the electrical signal into a sound signal, and wherein the earpiece further comprises a sound tube that is coupled to a sound port opening at the receiver, the sound tube having a longitudinal extension in at least two directions.
