The present invention relates to an apparatus for preparing food, said apparatus comprising: &#x2014;a shell () having internal walls (), &#x2014;a drawer () placed inside the shell (), the drawer comprising a pan () and a food basket (), the food basket () being placed inside the pan (), &#x2014;an air heating system () and an air fan () placed inside the shell (), &#x2014;a sliding mechanism () placed between the internal walls () and the drawer (). The sliding mechanism allows to correctly position the drawer inside the apparatus, and reduces efforts of use to manipulate the drawer.

An apparatus, pan and method for the preparation of food with hot air including a pan bottom providing a pan surface area for receiving food to be prepared, and side-walls at least partly surrounding the pan surface area, and a mounting connector for temporarily mounting the pan inside a food preparation chamber of an apparatus for preparing food. The pan bottom is provided with a plurality of through-holes as a hot air passage. The through-holes cover approximately 3 to 50% of the flat pan surface area and the heat capacity per area of a bottom surface of the pan bottom is between 10 and 75 JKdm.

The invention relates to a device for regenerating an ion exchange cartridge. In household appliances with an electric heating element for heating water, such as irons, coffee makers, and electric water kettles, deposition of scale is prevented by using an ion exchange cartridge ( ) comprising a resin ( ) which binds alkaline earth metal ions such as Ca and Mg , but also negative ions such as SO and CO ions. The device is a simple tool in which the cartridge can be inserted for regeneration. The device comprises a reservoir ( ) with an outlet ( ) to which an inlet ( ) of the cartridge can be coupled. By filling the reservoir with a brine, for example 1 l of water with 10% by weight of NaCl, said brine will flow through the cartridge replacing the alkaline earth metal ions, carbonate ions, and sulfate ions in the resin with the alkali metal ions (Na ) and the chloride ions (Cl ) of the brine. The brine can be easily drained into a sink.

Device for regenerating an ion exchange cartridge

A steam iron with an indicator for indicating calcification is provided in which the iron is provided with a timer for measuring an accumulated time of use of the steam iron, and an actuator for activating the indicator when the accumulated time exceeds a predetermined threshold level. The timer measures the time of use of the steam iron, the accumulated time of use being indicative of the amount of scale deposited in the steam chamber and steam vents. When the accumulated time of use exceeds a threshold the calcification indicator is activated to warn the user that a self-clean action is to be performed. The time of use measurement may be obtained by accumulating the time of use only during steam generation, or it may be obtained by correcting the accumulated time of use with a weighting factor which depends on the steaming rate. The weighting factor may be made dependent on the hardness of the water to be steamed, or it is further possible to make the threshold level for activating the calcification indicator dependent on the hardness of the water.
