In one example, the present disclosure describes a device, computer-readable medium, and method for reducing interference on the frequency modulation (FM) radio broadcast band from the G.fast protocol standard spectrum. For instance, in one example, a method includes delivering broadband service to a customer over a spectrum that overlaps with a frequency modulation radio broadcast band, and applying a notch filter to a target frequency of the frequency modulation radio broadcast band based on a profile that is customized for the customer, wherein the notch filter prevents the broadband service from using the target frequency during the delivering.

Reducing interference in radio broadcast bands

A disclosed service for managing mobile and wireless communication devices (MWCDs) includes enabling a server to generate a standard remote configuration command (RCC) and enabling a transmitter coupled to the server to transmit the RCC wirelessly. The RCC configures a feature on a first MWCD of a first supplier and a second MWCD of a second supplier. The RCC may disable one or more of a set of selected MWCD peripheral devices. For example, the RCC may disable an MWCD camera, an MWCD microphone, and/or an MWCD speaker. In some embodiments, the RCC transitions the MWCD to a restricted state in which the MWCD is unable to record multimedia content including audio and video content. In these embodiments, the RCC may configure one or more of the features on each of a set of MWCDs within a defined geographic region.

An apparatus and methods for utilizing a stand-alone Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) telephone with traditional plain old telephone service (POTS) telephone support is disclosed. A stand-alone VoIP telephone with an analog telephone adaptor supporting a plurality of external analog telephone sets and a digital Internet protocol (IP) interface to support VoIP voice data communication over a data channel is presented. The VoIP telephone is used to establish VoIP service line data connections between a VoIP telephone and a data switch to an IP network. The VoIP telephone receives an analog telephone signal from an external analog telephone and establishes a voice connection between the external analog telephone and the VoIP telephone.

Method and apparatus for stand-alone voice over internet protocol with POTS telephone support

A particular voice management method includes invoking an updatable call completion rule in a memory of an answering machine module in customer premises equipment. The answering machine module receives an incoming call signal for a session initiation protocol user agent. The session initiation protocol user agent has a first address and the answering machine module has a second address different from the first address. The method further includes saving a message received from a calling party associated with the incoming call signal to the memory via the answering machine module. The method also includes sending a graphical user interface from the answering machine module to a display of the customer premises equipment to present information about the incoming call.

An apparatus and methods for utilizing a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) telephone with a built-in VPN client is disclosed. A VoIP telephone with an internal VPN client module incorporated into the VoIP telephone establishes a VPN tunnel directly from the VoIP telephone VPN client to an IP-PBX network access point. A VPN session, established in response to keypad input from a user of the VoIP telephone, is conducted over the VPN tunnel to a remote location. In a disclosed method, a secured VoIP telephone communication link is established by receiving a request from a user of the VoIP telephone, processing the request, and sending a signal from the VoIP telephone unit's VPN client over a data interface to a remote location. After exchange of authentication messages between the VoIP telephone VPN client and a remote location's VPN server, a VPN session is established.

Method and apparatus for Voice over Internet Protocol telephony using a virtual private network

A method of establishing Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) communications is provided. The method includes establishing a virtual circuit to carry VoIP traffic via a first Point to Point Protocol over Ethernet (PPPoE) session and to carry other data traffic via a second PPPoE session. The first PPPoE session and the second PPPoE session are supported by a digital subscriber line access multiplexer (DSLAM).

Voice over internet protocol (VoIP) telephone apparatus and communication system for carrying VoIP traffic

A system and method are disclosed for extending communications over the Internet by associating a telephone number with, for example a remote virtual private network (VPN) client IP address. A call can be received to the telephone number and an invite signal is provided to the remote VPN client utilizing the IP address. When the VPN client is able, a VPN can be established and the call can be routed to a phone associated with the remote VPN client IP address.
