An image forming apparatus includes a belt component, a first detachable unit that faces the belt component in an area where an outer surface of the belt component faces upward, a first housing component that houses the first detachable unit and is drawable from and loadable into the apparatus, a second detachable unit that faces the belt component in an area where the outer surface of the belt component faces downward, and a second housing component that houses the second detachable unit and is drawable from and loadable into the apparatus. With the first housing component being drawn from the apparatus, the first detachable unit is detachable from and attachable to the first housing component in a side-to-side direction. With the second housing component being drawn from the apparatus, the second detachable unit is detachable from and attachable to the second housing component in an upward direction.

Image forming apparatus

A discharger includes a first electrode, a second electrode, a tensioning member, a protrusion, and a pressing member. The first electrode extends in a longitudinal direction. The second electrode is disposed between the first electrode and an image carrier member, and includes a netlike portion including multiple openings through which electric charges discharged from the first electrode pass. The tensioning member supports the second electrode while exerting a tension on the second electrode in the longitudinal direction. The protrusion is disposed on the second electrode on an outer side of the netlike portion in the longitudinal direction. The protrusion protrudes beyond the netlike portion in a thickness direction of the second electrode. The pressing member presses the second electrode in the thickness direction. The pressing member is noncontact with the protrusion.

Discharger and image forming apparatus

An image forming apparatus includes a black image carrier that holds toner images of black, a yellow image carrier that holds toner images of yellow, a magenta image carrier that holds toner images of magenta, a cyan image carrier that holds toner images of cyan, at least one spot-color image carrier, and multiple collecting units. The at least one spot-color image carrier holds toner images of a spot color other than black, yellow, magenta, and cyan. Each of the collecting units collects waste toner. The collecting units include a first collecting unit that collects waste toner removed from the black image carrier, and waste toner removed from the spot-color image carrier.

Image forming apparatus and collecting device

A powder collection device includes a transport path, plural collection containers, and an opening and closing body. The transport path is configured to receive powder discharged from an image forming unit and transport the powder to discharge ports. The collection containers are arranged on the same straight line along the transport path. The collection containers is configured to accommodate the powder transported by the transport path. The opening and closing body has plural openings. The opening and closing body is configured to slide in the transport path so as to cause the transport path and the collection containers to sequentially communicate with each other.

Powder collection device and image forming apparatus

Provided is a powder recovery device including a recovery container that includes a powder collection chamber therein, recovers used powder transported from a powder processing section that performs a process using powder, and collects the recovered powder in the powder collection chamber, and a transport member that is provided within the recovery container along the longitudinal direction of the recovery container, and evenly transports powder collected in the powder collection chamber, wherein plural recovery ports are provided at positions located higher than a highest location in the recovery container at which powder is collected, and plural air vent ports are at least separately provided at regions with a center of the recovery container in the longitudinal direction of the recovery container interposed therebetween.
