A display device comprises a display panel comprising an image display area and a non-display area, display pixels comprising light-emitting elements in the image display area and pixel driving units connected to the light-emitting elements, light-sensing pixels comprising photo-detecting units in a fingerprint sensing area in the image display area, and sense driving units connected to the photo-detecting units, a light-sensing reset driver configured to supply reset signals to the sense driving units of the light-sensing pixels for at least each horizontal line among the light-sensing pixels in response to a line select signal from a display driving circuit; and a fingerprint scan driver configured to sequentially supply a fingerprint scan signal to the sense driving units of the light-sensing pixels in response to a fingerprint scan control signal from the display driving circuit.

Display device

A display device includes a display panel having a plurality of pixels connected to gate lines and data lines, and a plurality of fingerprint sensors connected to sensing lines and read-out lines. A gate driver provides gate signals to the gate lines and provides sensing signals to the sensing lines. The gate driver includes a first gate signal supply module providing a first gate signal to a first gate line among the gate lines. A first switching element is turned on by a reset enable signal to connect the first gate line and a first sensing line among the sensing lines.

A display device includes: a display panel; an emission driver; a scan driver; and a timing controller. The display panel includes light emitting pixels and photosensitive pixels, where the photosensitive pixels are operated in an initialization period, a light exposure period and a sensing period. The emission driver supplies emission control signals to emission control lines connected to the light emitting pixels, based on an emission start signal. The scan driver supplies scan signals to scan lines connected to the light emitting pixels and the photosensitive pixels, based on a scan start signal. The timing controller generates the emission start signal having a single pulse of a gate-off level and the scan start signal having a single pulse of a gate-on level in a last frame period among frame periods corresponding to the light exposure period and in each of frame periods corresponding to the sensing period.

Display device and driving method thereof

A display device including: scan lines including first and second scan lines; pixels connected to the scan lines; photo sensors connected to some of the scan lines, the photo sensors including a first photo sensor connected to the first scan line and a readout line, and a second photo sensor connected to the second scan line and the readout line; a scan driver to provide scan signals to the scan lines; and a readout circuit to receive, through the readout line, detection signals which are outputted from the photo sensors in response to the scan signals, wherein, while the scan signals are provided to the first and second scan lines, the readout circuit samples a detection signal of one of the first photo sensor and the second photo sensor without sampling a detection signal of the other one of the first photo sensor and the second photo sensor.

A display device includes: a display panel; a scan driver to provide scan signals to scan lines; an emission driver to provide emission control signals to emission control lines; and a readout circuit to receive a sensing signal from a readout line. The display panel includes: a first pixel in a first row, and connected to a first sub-scan line from among the scan lines, and a first emission control line; a first photo sensor in the first row, and connected to the first sub-scan line, a reset control line, and the readout line; a second pixel in a second row, and connected to a second sub-scan line from among the scan lines, and a second emission control line; and a second photo sensor in the second row, and connected to the second sub-scan line, a third emission control line, and the readout line.

An input sensing device includes sensor pixels initialized in response to a reset signal provided through a reset line, and output a sensing signal to a read-out line in response to a scan signal provided through a scan line. A controller generates at least one start signal and clock signals. A selector selectively provides the at least one start signal and the clock signals to first control lines or second control lines. A reset driver connected to the first control lines, and supplying reset signals to at least some of the reset lines based on the at least one start signal and the clock signals provided through the first control lines. A scan driver is connected to the second control lines, and supplies scan signals to at least some of the scan lines based on the at least one start signal and the clock signals.

Input sensing device and display device including the same

A display device comprises a display panel which comprises scan lines, sensing lines, pixels electrically connected to each of the scan lines, and photo sensors electrically to each of the scan lines and the sensing lines, a scan driver which outputs scan signals to the scan lines according to a scan control signal, a timing controller which outputs the scan control signal to the scan driver, and a readout circuit which receives light sensing signals of the photo sensors from the sensing lines. The timing controller sets a frame frequency of the scan control signal to a first frame frequency in a first mode in which the display panel displays an image. The timing controller sets the frame frequency of the scan control signal to a second frame frequency in a second mode in which the photo sensors sense a fingerprint.

A display device includes a display panel including a pinhole optical system and an optical sensor overlapping the pinhole optical system. A fingerprint detection method which detects a user's fingerprint using the display device includes obtaining fingerprint sensing data by sensing a user's fingerprint using the display device, detecting misalignment information indicating a degree of misalignment between the pinhole optical system and the optical sensor, generating calibration data using at least one piece of reference data corresponding to at least one reference folding angle according to the detected misalignment information, generating fingerprint data by correcting the fingerprint sensing data using the calibration data, and detecting the user's fingerprint according to the fingerprint data.

Display device and fingerprint detection method using the same

A display device is provided. The display device includes a first substrate, a first detection electrode on the first substrate, a first bank including an opening that exposes the first detection electrode, a photosensitive layer on the first detection electrode, a second detection electrode on the photosensitive layer, a first electrode on the second detection electrode, a second bank including an opening that exposes the first electrode, a light emitting layer on the first electrode, a second electrode on the light emitting layer, a first optical system between the second detection electrode and the first electrode, and a second optical system on the second electrode, wherein the first optical system and the second optical system overlap the photosensitive layer in a thickness direction of the display device.

Display device having a detection element

An input sensing device includes: sensor pixels, a horizontal driver, a selection circuit, and a vertical driver. Each of the sensor pixels is connected to a plurality of driving lines and a one of a plurality of signal input lines. The horizontal driver sequentially applies a horizontal driving signal to the sensor pixels through the driving lines. The selection circuit is connected to n of the signal input lines (n is a natural number of 2 or more) and to one output line. The selection circuit sequentially outputs n sensing signals received through the n signal input lines to the one output line. The vertical driver receives the n sensing signals through the one output line. The horizontal driver applies the horizontal driving signal n times to a given one of the driving lines to correspond to the n sensing signals.

Input sensing method and input sensing device including the same

An input sensing device includes sensor pixels initialized in response to a reset signal provided through a reset line, and output a sensing signal to a read-out line in response to a scan signal provided through a scan line. A controller generates at least one start signal and dock signals. A selector selectively provides the at least one start signal and the dock signals to first control lines or second control lines. A reset driver connected to the first control lines, and supplying reset signals to at least some of the reset lines based on the at least one start signal and the clock signals provided through the first control lines. A scan driver is connected to the second control lines, and supplies scan signals to at least some of the scan lines based on the at least one start signal and the clock signals.

A display device includes: a display panel which includes a first area and a second area; and a sensor device which overlaps the first area in a thickness direction of the display panel. The display panel includes first sensor electrodes in the first area and second sensor electrodes in the second area, and a shape of a first sensor electrode of the first sensor electrodes is different from a shape of a second sensor electrode of the second sensor electrodes.

A foldable display device includes: a first substrate, a first thin-film transistor layer on the first substrate, a light emitting element layer on the first thin-film transistor layer, and a fingerprint sensor layer to receive light reflected by an external object. The fingerprint sensor layer includes: a second substrate under the first substrate, a second thin-film transistor layer under the second substrate, and a light receiving element layer under the second thin-film transistor layer.
