A brake force sensor arrangement for a brake unit includes a brake unit including a brake force application member; and a strain gage positioned on the brake force application member. The strain gage may be configured to measure the stress, strain, or stress and strain of the brake force application member. The stress, strain, or stress and strain of the brake force application member may be proportional to the brake force applied by the brake unit.

Brake force sensor arrangement for a brake unit

A piston stroke sensor arrangement for a brake unit includes a brake unit including a piston and a piston tube, and a proximity sensor supported on the brake unit. The proximity sensor may determine the location of the piston within the brake unit based on the position of the piston tube relative to the proximity sensor. The proximity sensor may be an inductive proximity sensor. A groove may be defined in an outer circumferential surface of the piston tube. When the brake unit is in a non-applied position, the proximity sensor may detect metal of the piston tube. When the brake unit is in an applied position, the proximity sensor may not detect the metal of the piston tube.

Piston stroke sensor arrangement for a brake unit

A railway vehicle brake system includes at least two relay valves in electrical communication with one another and in fluid communication with a brake pipe, at least two friction brake units in fluid communication with each relay valve, and at least one electric brake unit in electrical communication with each relay valve. Upon a failure of one of the electric brake units, the relay valve in communication with the failed electric brake unit sends a signal to at least one other relay valve to provide pressurized fluid to the at least two friction brake units in fluid communication with the at least one other relay valve. The at least two relay valves may include integrated electric relay valves. The at least two friction brake units may include disc brake units. Each relay valve may be positioned between and in fluid communication with the brake pipe and a main reservoir pipe.

Thermally optimized railway vehicle brake system

The railway vehicle brake disc includes a cylindrical hub, friction ring, and bell-shaped flange connecting the hub with the friction ring. The cylindrical hub defines a central axis and has an axial width and an outer diameter. The surface at the outer diameter defines an outer hub periphery. The friction ring includes two opposed annular members each having an outer braking surface and an inner surface. The annular members are connected to each other by a plurality of fins extending from the inner surface of one annular member to the inner surface of the other annular member. The bell-shaped flange has an inner portion connected to the hub, an outer portion connected to the fins, and a radial portion connecting the inner portion to the outer portion. The hub, friction ring, and bell-shaped flange are formed integrally from a single material.

Apparatus and associated methodology are provided for key operated pin tumbler locks, some of which may incorporate a removable core pin tumbler lock. A selected tumbler of a type commonly used in pin tumbler locks is configured along with a driver pin to control operation of a retainer that, when rotated by use of a control key inserted in the lock, allows alternate selective removal and replacement of the core assembly in the lock. Also, or separate therefrom, one or more tumbler holes may be formed or drilled in a manner so as to prevent engagement of a tumbler with the bite of a key. Presently disclosed structures and associated methodology help to reduce any susceptibility to unauthorized techniques practiced against the lock, such as unintentional activation of the tumblers by unauthorized persons through use of a key with so-called 'bumping' techniques.

Key operated pin tumbler locks and methodology

An anti-tip linkage mechanism for vertical file cabinets of the type having drawers and/or pivotal front panels includes molded polymeric cam follower housings that snap-fit onto each of the slide channels for the drawers or panels and non-circular connecting rods attached to cam actuators that enable interaction of the anti-tip mechanisms incorporated with each slide channel. Lock actuated auxiliary cam mechanisms and panel locking assemblies controllable by a single cabinet lock are connected with a cabinet lock by linkage bars or cables.

Anti-tip interlocking linkage mechanism for vertical cabinets

There is disclosed an improved rotatable cylinder lock having a removable lock core. The lock core is removable from the lock housing for locking applications that require the lock to have up to 180&deg; of lock core rotation. The invention is accomplished through the use of a specially designed lock housing, lock core, adapter, and shifter. The lock housing has a cylindrical opening defining a groove and rotational slot. Inserted within the cylindrical opening in the lock housing is an adapter having a stop lug and tumbler block, a shifter having a drive slot, and a lock core having a block restrictor relief. In use, the stop lug on the cylindrical adapter rotatably engages with the rotational slot in the housing while the tumbler block on the adapter rotatably engages with the block restrictor relief on the lock core. The assembly of the present invention thereby permits the lock core to be rotated 180&deg; within the lock housing while also permitting the removal of the lock core.

A panel lock includes a housing with a pivotal face plate arranged to engage a bolt upon pivotal movement of the face plate. A rotatable plug assembly may be rotated between a locking and unlocking position to restrain or release the push plate.
