A method is provided for molding a breast-receiving cup for a garment, comprising laminating a support fabric to a lofted material to form a lofted assembly, positioning the lofted assembly in a molding apparatus having a first mold with a projecting element and a second mold having a recessed element, and closing together the first mold and the second mold while maintaining a uniform preset gap between the projecting element and the recessed element to form a molded lofted assembly in the shape of a breast-receiving cup.

A brassiere having a front opening and a dynamic adjustable back section and a first side panel and a second side panel is provided. The brassiere also has a pair of breast receiving cups and a connector between the breast receiving cups for selectively opening and selectively closing the brassiere. A three-dimensional molded breast pad for a brassiere is provided. The molded breast pad has a cup shape with at least one or more first layers of a first material and one or more second layers of a second material. The first and second layers/materials have different loft characteristics associated therewith. These loft characteristics influence, at least in part, the elastomeric properties of the first and second layers/materials. Thus, the molded breast pad is a moldable three-dimensional breast pad cooperative with a brassiere to support, shape and/or smooth the contours of a wearer's breast.

A brassiere shoulder strap connector is shaped so that the shoulder strap is positioned at a desired angle to better accommodate the anatomy of the wearer's shoulder. Preferably, the connector has a triangular shape.

A shoulder strap pad assembly is provided that includes: a top cover, a bottom cover, and a cushion filler. The bottom cover is laminated to the top cover to form an enclosure in which the cushion filler is secured. The top cover has a top fabric layer, a first adhesive web layer positioned below the top fabric layer and a first base layer positioned below the first adhesive layer on a side opposite that of the top fabric layer. The bottom cover has a second base layer, a second adhesive web layer positioned above the second base layer. The cushion filler has a cushion layer, a third adhesive web layer positioned above the cushion layer, a fourth adhesive web layer positioned below the cushion layer, and a third base layer positioned below the fourth adhesive web layer. In a preferred embodiment, the pad assembly is attached to a piece of fabric to form a channel in which a brassiere shoulder strap is positioned. In a alternative embodiment, the pad assembly is integrally formed with the brassiere shoulder strap.

In a first embodiment, a first fabric layer has gelatinous strips, thereby separating the first fabric layer into sections. A second fabric layer is positioned upon the first fabric layer, and an underwire is positioned on the second fabric layer opposite the first fabric layer. The first fabric layer is then folded onto itself to enclose the second fabric layer and the underwire. In a second embodiment, a third, or intermediate, fabric layer is positioned between the first and second fabric layers. In a third embodiment, an underwire is surrounded by a first, non-woven fabric layer. A second, rigid-type fabric having a bladder with a gelatinous material is positioned on the first fabric. The first fabric is wrapped around the underwire, and the bladder is positioned against the body of the wearer.

A hook and eye fastener is provided in which either, or both of, the hook fastener fabric tape or the eye fastener fabric tape is made of a stretchable material. Preferably, the fabric tape can stretch primarily in a horizontal direction. The fabric tape may be single or multi-ply. In an alternative embodiment, the eye fastener fabric tape is a one piece, open knit construction. This open knit construction provides a number of eyes for a variety of adjustment possibilities with the corresponding hooks.
