The thermally conductive liquid is held within the shell. The liquid-volume compensator mechanism is configured to compensate for expansion of the thermally conductive liquid.

A light-emitting diode (LED) bulb has a shell. An LED is within the shell. The LED is electrically connected to a driver circuit, which is electrically connected to a base of the LED bulb. The LED bulb also has a heatsink between the shell and base. A thermal break partitions the heatsink into an upper partition adjacent the shell and a lower partition adjacent the base.

An LED bulb includes at least one LED mount disposed within a shell. At least one LED is attached to the at least one LED mount. A thermally conductive liquid is held within the shell. The LED and LED mount are immersed in the thermally conductive liquid. A liquid displacer is immersed in the thermally conductive liquid. The liquid displacer is configured to displace a predetermined amount of the thermally conductive liquid to reduce the amount of thermally conductive liquid held within the shell. The liquid displacer is also configured to be compressible, where the liquid displacer is compressed in response to expansion of the thermally conductive liquid.

An LED bulb includes a base, a shell connected to the base, one or more LEDs, a thermally conductive liquid, and a flexible diaphragm. The one or more LEDs are disposed within the shell. The thermally conductive liquid is held within the shell. The flexible diaphragm is in fluidic connection to the thermally conductive liquid, and is configured to deflect from a first position to a second position to compensate for expansion of the thermally conductive liquid.

A portable computer is provided that has a housing. A removable battery may provide power to the portable computer. A connector on the battery may mate with a corresponding battery connector in the portable computer housing. The battery connector may be mounted in the portable computer housing a floating arrangement. This allows the position of the connector to move slightly to accommodate variations in the position of the battery. A cable may be used to route power between the battery and a main logic board. A cover may be used to hold the battery connector and cable to the housing of the portable computer without excessively impeding movement of the connector.

The liquid-volume compensator mechanism moves from a first position to a second position. A first volume is provided for the thermally conductive liquid in the first position. A second volume, which is greater than the first volume, is provided for the thermally conductive liquid in the second position.

Connectors having a smaller profile. These connectors are useful as a reduced form factor DisplayPort connector. Keys on a receptacle are used to indicate when an insert is fully engaged. Edges of the receptacle and insert are chamfered in such a way as to prevent the pins of the connector from being damaged when an improper insertion is attempted. User experience is also enhanced by the use of one or more latches. As the connector is inserted, the latch provides resistance that builds until the connector is inserted a certain distance, after which the latch enters a cutout portion of the insert thus releasing the pressure and letting the user know the connection has been made. Fingers are employed to provide mechanical stability and electrical connection between receptacle and insert.
