A pad includes a leading edge, a trailing edge having a thickness different from a thickness of the leading edge, a first portion oriented to engage a surface, and a second portion oriented to engage the surface. The second portion is more fluid absorbent than the first portion.

Floor finish application pad and method

One aspect of the present Invention provides a pull-behind floor finish applicator which includes a wheeled cart constructed and arranged to receive a source of floor finish. The wheeled cart includes a selectively moveable floor finish spreader coupled to the cart with a biasing member.

Floor finish applicator

A floor finish application apparatus and method for applying floor finishes to a floor. The floor finish application apparatus can include an applicator pad, which in some embodiments comprises filter material. In some embodiments, the filter material is air filter material, and has certain wet and/or dry friction characteristics, density, thickness, compressive resistance, liquid absorptive capacity, porosity, spreading capability, and/or leveling capability. In some embodiments, the pad has a stepped or otherwise uneven height.

Some aspects of the present invention are related to a mop and/or mop head that allows larger debris to pass over at least a portion of the mop head and into a receptacle of the mop head. In some embodiments, the mop head and the receptacle are integrally formed. The mop has debris collecting material coupled to the mop head to collect dust, dirt, and other relatively small debris as the mop moves over a floor. In one particular embodiment, the debris collecting material is a non-woven material. The debris collecting material of the mop can be connected to the mop many different ways. However, in some embodiments, the material is connected via several projections extending from a top surface of the mop head. The projections pass through apertures in the dust collecting material.
