A well treatment additive includes a siloxane surfactant, a solvent and an aqueous phase. The solvent is preferably a terpene hydrocarbon. Also disclosed is a method for using the well treatment additive to form and enhance the properties of terpene solvent based additives useful for the treatment of oil and gas wells. Methods of using the novel well treatment additives include using the additives in a variety of well treatment processes including, but not limited to, acidizing operations, hydraulic fracturing operations, well remediation operations and water removal operations.

Siloxane surfactant additives for oil and gas applications

A well treatment composition designed for the simultaneous enhancement of the production of both liquid and gaseous hydrocarbons from the same reservoir on a non-selective basis. The well treatment composition includes a first surfactant and a second surfactant, wherein the second surfactant is selected from the group consisting of ethylenediaminealkoxylate, diethylenetriaminealkoxylate, ethoxylated alkylene amines, ethoxylated alkyl amines, propoxylated alkylene amines, propoxylated alkyl amines, ethoxylated-propoxylated alkylene amines and ethoxylated-propoxylated alkyl amines. The well treatment composition also includes a first solvent, a second solvent and water. Methods for using the well treatment composition include the steps of emplacing the well treatment composition into wells having high and low gas-to-oil ratios.

Compositions and methods for enhancement of production of liquid and gaseous hydrocarbons

Methods and compositions comprising an emulsion or a microemulsion and a polymer for use in an oil and/or gas well are provided. In some embodiments, the emulsion or the microemulsion comprises water, a solvent, and a surfactant, and optionally, one or more additives. In certain embodiments, the polymer comprises a copolymer comprising an acrylamide.

Polymers and emulsions for use in oil and/or gas wells

A foam generating surfactant formulation includes a betaine, an alpha-olefin sulfonate and a nanofluid. The betaine is preferably a cocamidopropyl betaine or laurel betaine. The alpha-olefin sulfonate is preferably an anionic surfactant having between 8 and 18 carbon atoms per molecule. The nanofluid is preferably an oil-in-water nanofluid that includes an emulsifying surfactant, a solvent, a co-solvent and water. The addition of the nanofluid increases the thermal stability and salt resistance of the foam generating surfactant.

Embodiments including methods comprising providing a treatment fluid comprising a first aqueous base fluid and a polymeric gelling agent, wherein the treatment fluid comprises a first surface tension; introducing a fluid mobility modifier into the treatment fluid, wherein the fluid mobility modifier comprises: a first surfactant selected from the group consisting of a non-ionic surfactant; a cationic surfactant; and any combination thereof, and a solvent-surfactant blend comprising a second aqueous base fluid, a second surfactant, a solvent, and a co-solvent, wherein the ratio of the first surfactant to the solvent-surfactant blend is in the range of between about 1:5 to about 5:1, wherein the fluid mobility modifier causes the treatment fluid to adopt a second surface tension that is less than the first surface tension; and introducing the treatment fluid into a subterranean formation.

Methods and compositions for use in oil and/or gas wells

Disclosed is a method for the treatment of hydrogen sulfide. The method preferably includes forming a solvent-surfactant blend, preparing a microemulsion by combining the solvent-surfactant blend with a carrier fluid and contacting the hydrogen sulfide with the microemulsion. In preferred embodiments, the solvent-surfactant blend includes a surfactant and a solvent selected from the group consisting of terpenes and alkyl or aryl esters of short chain alcohols.

Composition and process for the treatment of hydrogen sulfide

Disclosed is a microemulsion well treatment microemulsion that is formed by combining a solvent-surfactant blend with a carrier fluid. In preferred embodiments, the solvent-surfactant blend includes a surfactant and a solvent selected from the group consisting of terpenes and alkyl or aryl esters of short chain alcohols. The disclosed well treatment microemulsion can be used in well remediation, stimulation and hydrogen sulfide mitigation operations. Additionally, the well treatment microemulsion can be used in the production of benzothiophenes through interaction with hydrogen sulfide.

Composition and process for well cleaning

Disclosed is a process for preparing a foamer composition having an anionic surfactant and a neutralizing amine. The process includes the steps of estimating an extent to which the anionic surfactant will decompose into acidic components under an elevated temperature range, determining an effective amount of neutralizing amine needed to sufficiently neutralize the acidic components upon the decomposition of the anionic surfactant and mixing the effective amount of neutralizing amine with the anionic surfactant. Also disclosed is a foamer composition having from about 5% to about 70% by weight anionic surfactant, from about 1% to about 20% by weight neutralizing amine, from about 2% to about 10% by weight amine-based corrosion inhibitor, from about 0% to about 20% by weight solvent, from about 1% to about 10% by weight scale inhibitor and from about 0% to about 30% water.

The addition of relatively small quantities of reticulated bacterial cellulose to well bore drilling muds improves their rheological properties. A preferred reticulated bacterial cellulose is one produced under agitated culture conditions using strains of a bacterium from the genus Acetobacter. Reticulated bacterial cellulose may be used in place of a conventional gellant or in combination with conventional gellants to provide improved drilling muds.
